Hey all...I've been having considerable trouble getting my feet wet in the new ladder. I've tried a multitude of builds and still can't stay alive. I am now working on a pit strafer but have run in to a damage bottleneck of sorts and I decided that I need to MF a bit before I develope her any further. The idea is to build a barbarian that uses a Rhyme Shield maybe LOH and some other stuff to quest drop NM andy. I was thinkin about level 40ish so level 20 sword mastery some BO at least 1 point in nat resist and the rest in WW. What do you guys think?

Weapon mastery is always the last skill to max. It is essential to have it eventually, but the bonuses it gives make the most difference at endgame. I'd have those 20 points in sword mastery go towards your bo/shout, something like 15/5... or just have 1 pt in sword mastery until endgame. Also, never more than 5 points into nat resist as it has huge diminishing returns.

I max mastery earlier now. One used to be enough, but 1.10 fixed the critical strike bug. It's really preference though, but I usually max mastery, BO, then WW.

I personally think it is totally worthless to max mastery early.
1) you can't fully take advantage of critical strike until you have a high dmg weapon and some deadly strike.
2) same thing as 1 for %ed
3) it isn't until you get to hell difficulty where ar becomes a real issue.
All the benefits of weapon mastery don't fully get taken advantage of until endgame, compared to bo which has huge bonuses early on. Also, the %ed bonus from ww is greater than weapon mastery, and same ar bonus between the two.
