How much does the skill FIND ITEM add to mf?

Im just starting a mf bard and i was wondering if i should max out find item or not. I read somwhere that find item ups your mf, but i am not really sure :scratch: . If it does up my mf, by how much?? and lastly should i max it out or shouldn't I?

It doesn't up your magic find, it just gives you an extra chance to get an item drop from enemies (kind've like killing them twice). The drop is affected by any MF you might have, of course.

I wouldn't max it. I would probably only put one point in it, at max maybe 10 (if you were a hardcore MF character). Otherwise 1 is plenty with +skill gear.

you should have alot of +s to warcries if you're singing, and you could always get something like heart carvers on weapon switch

Find Item is one of the nice skills to have, but pain in the *** to waste a point on...
My Crybaba has it and he found a Vex from a dead cow with it :cheesy:
I was like O_o
The problem is finding dead enemies, I wish I could just use it as "steal" and Find Item live monsters :P

are these good items for mfing or are there better ones 4 a barb?

Well, you are better off with an axe for that, but since the baba's are swords... Your best bet is probably a runeword. Lightsabre isn't bad.

And I would suggest frenzy over s/s barb so you can use it on swap for kills.

As far as pure mf is concerned this is a perfect setup. Go around killing everything with your normal weapon that's got some life leech to go with your stealskull (never can be too sure), then weapon switch and start item finding with your skill. It's not the most efficient setup but it'll garner about as much equipment as your average sorcy. If all your eq had perfect MF and you were lvl 99, UBER. But dreaming and drooling aside :P you're lookin good

If you're going to use babas on switch, it would be worth it to put points past 1 into find item until you see a good return on horking (term for using find item).

Either use dual echoing weapons or put 3-6 points into find item with your dual babas.

If you want to use your Find item on a more consistant basis and you are having trouble finding dead corpses you need to make sure that you don't have any cold skill damage in your weapons or charms. So this means no raven frost rings, basically that means you gotta cham something so you can't be frozen

That or trangs belt. Though lacking in the mf dept, it does have the ever-nifty cannot be frozen mod. And the other stats on it aren't that horrible either. Another bonus, whole lot cheaper than cham.

now i need to know if using these items are a good idea or not.
i am planning to use a colossus blade BOTD, which requires about 142 str as my main wep. again i am going to be a pure barb mfer so i'll be wearing war travelers wich adds +10 to str. so is getting 132 str base be a good idea or not? if it is than i would then also have enough str to wear a ss. which would help really much on my resis. also if using an ss is a good idea than would getting the required dex for max blocking be a good idea or just stupid :scratch: ? then with all my left over stats i would but it all in vitality. one last question here. in the end how much hps would i have if im planning to go to lvl 90 or higher?

You're looking at about 3k-3.5k life with a lvl 30 bo. It's always worth it to max blocking if you ever wear a shield.
