Killing Baal & trade value

I killed Baal in normal and after I picked up the droppings and cash and left the game with out talking to tyriel(i think that is the thing to talk to). When I joined the next game the quest was active again and i had to kill him again. Is this normal, or did something weird happen?

I also wanted to know what a non-ladder arreat's face would be worth? What would be a fair trade, weapon or armor wise?

Did you make the game, or somebody else?

Sounds to me like somebody else who had already killed Baal in that difficulty made the game, so you couldn't get the quest

I think that the quest isn't completed unless you actually talk to Tyrael so the game assumes that you've not finished the quest. Therefore, when starting again, it'll "re-set" the quest for you.

If you're in a game where you can get the quest, and kill Baal, you'll get the quest even if you don't talk to Tyrael. i know because I almost never talk to him after Baal. I go to town to ID what I manged to get and sell it off or keep it as the case may be. After which, I leave the game. Once I leave, the Congrats screen comes up.

remember to do the secret cow level.

when the boss is killed once. He will not make as good drop as the first anymore. I experienced this at meph. i Killed him got 2-3 unique items and went out of the game without exiting the portal. The townsfolk spoke about killing meph. So I actually did the quest. But I had to do itagain because I didn't went through the portal to hell.
