View Full Version : Got this error message when trying to connect to battlenet

It basically says "Unable to identify application version".
Ive tried to reinstall D2:LoD several times but still gets the message.
Dont know what to do now =( need some help asap plz.

That is weird, I get this message sometimes when i change accounts but when I click it away, wait a few seconds and then try it again, it works. Hmm, no idea how to help you sorry. It sounds like it tries to find out what version your D2 is, but I have no idea where it checks. If it is the registry or D2 itself, no idea. But somehow it can't get to the information.

It's on Blizzard's tech support site and simply says that your game may have been corrupted or altered in such a way that b.net can no longer determine if you need a patch.

that's actually the reason I can't play on battle . net. I would like to know what's wrong

Oump!!!! Took my time to read it through. I'm using a no cd exe file because my brother and I share the diablo cd and I live in the other end of this damn country. However. Buying a New CD wouldn't be hard. 500 meters to EB games
Oh.... so you're using a hack of some sort to play DII? The moment you use a No CD file, the updater won't function and you're stuck. Can't help you there - sorry.
PS. If buying a new CD won't be hard, why didn't you do so in the first place?
