Meh, ZF and everyone else realize that the HC forum is more or less a closer knit place than the "Sorceress Forum". (huge raspberry) Smaller community and we all come here to speak our minds. Ever read the OT forum? I tried it once, didn't like it.

I think that they should change the otf forum to spamming grounds.
Lots of spam in there.

Check out the Druid forum. Spam, spam and spam. A weekly thread dedicated to it... and I couldn't believe the thread that asked if the moderator there should ban himself if he had any honor left.

I live in the OTF, have posted there for 2-3 years. Obviously there's gonna be spam, it's all off-topic stuff. And that's what keeps it somewhat interesting.

I tried a few times to post in OTF I just get fed up with the Canadian/UK bush bashers, funny how all the american voters that post there may have similar views (read as: liberal views) but don't constantly lamblast bush. :innocent:

Oh, incase you wonder, no im not a republican, nor do i know who i'll be voting for this november.

Yeah, seems like the people who dont live in the U.S. bash him the most haha. I also found that odd how the people who live outside of the United States are the experts on how WE live.

1) We have a right to bash him, as the way he runs the country does affect the world.
2) That said I'd vote for him if I lived there...hippies deserve to run nothing.
3) Didn't you hear? Canadians and the English know much more about living inside the USA than USAians, it's a proven fact.
4) GoGo trying to take the OT thread OT~~

dunno if you were being sarcastic, but it's a proven fact because a few people did a couple small surveys walking around the city basically doing a "jaywalking" bit?

Some person did the same thing in the UK, and some people answered Gandalf as defeating the Spanish Armada.

Hardly proof if you ask me =/

But if you were being sarcastic then my statement is basically just... pointless?

My cat, Bobzilla, loves Bush. Had him for lunch the other day! (http://www.galeanet.com/~cmgalea/albums/FunnyPics/bobzillaeatsbush.sized.jpg)

@ Mouse, I agree, anyone can be critical of Bush. Its just that some things get old when the 1000th post on the topic comes up and its just another silly mis-placed word he said and they all say "LOLROFLS LOOK HE=DUMBRETARD OMGDIE BUSH LOLO!111"

Seriously, does the world understand that there are two houses of congress that are making out laws and that the president's veto power isnt going to kill the law if 2/3 of the congress thinks otherwise?

It feels to me like the other countries feel frightened by Bush because he told bypassed the UN going to iraq because of their uselessly slow buracracy. The UN was the world's last, best restraint on the US and now they are vary afraid because they are completely out of power.

20 years from now I'll bet you 10 to 1 that the world is talking about China's government. They're going to be more powerful than the US soon.

Oh, Orpheus, so true. China IS the next world super power. Simple reasons, they are committed to what they do and there is no debate. I read an article in National Geographic recently that talked about their gas consumption. Soon the US will be a NOTHING compared to China's use of petroleum, and they don't have environmentalists there. Maybe our whackos should go over there NOW to stop them before they get started. Of course, we may never know what becomes of them but oh well.

Wait, you're implying some people answered to the contrary?

(See if the sarcasm is clear this time around ^^)

I'm just afraid of what the US's reaction will be to being 2nd best in world power...I sure hope it doesn't start a fight. Thailand may be the first conflict between China and the USA...I sure hope it isn't.

I think the first conflict will be for Taiwan, which China considers to be a rogue province. Two weeks ago, China announced that they will use force to bring Taiwan "back into the fold" should the current president continue on his path to create and ratify a decleration of independence in 2008.

China is the one to watch. They're big, patient and are not afraid to use nuclear weapons in a fight.

There's an interesting document HERE (http://www.fas.org/nuke/guide/china/doctrine/97-0601I.htm) if you're interested. Download the pdf on from the link at the bottom.
