Please list skills a GOOD pvp trap asn would use.

I am makeing a Teap asn for my pvp char. Mainly because the pwn any1 w/o high light res and absorb. I have been reading and it hits me, mind blast would be useful! but if i were to use would i have to max it? here was my idea for a trap asn.

20 - lightning sentry
20 - shack web
20 - charged bolt sentry
20 - death sentry
5 - fade
5 - burst of speed
5 - double wepon block
1 - mind blast

Plz sent all sugestions for a ladder trap asn.
Keep in mind i cant afford enigma and hoto yet :grrr:

The lame but effective build in pub dueling seems to be:

1) Spam 5 traps near opponent
2) Name lock with fast casting mindblast

Most builds have crappy FHR (even the barb relative to the stunning of mindblast) and will likely sit there stunned while the traps whittle away at their health. Of course this strategy takes about zero skill and just results in a bunch of frustrated and pissed off opponents (including me).

Name lock is when you are dueling someone, and you have for instance Mind blast as your right click skill, then you highlight there name and just hold the right button down.

Be prepared to go 50/50 without awesome equipment. All it takes is resists and a tgods to not even be able to hurt them with traps without tons of plus skills. This is not a cheap build to make good.

Do not go c/c. Claw block does not work at all when running or walking.

Putting 5 this and that isn't that usefull. 1 point is all you need with plus skills.

Spend alot of time dueling and learn strategy. It takes alot more than just trap trap trap, bm bm bm bm bm. The only people that say so have never REALLY played a pvp trapsin.

Well it does tend to have a different name depending on who you talk to, name lock, mouse lock or click lock are just a few :)

Anywho, yeah for trapsin i prefer to get myself a motto "If they're just going to absorb, i'll get my Zealot" lol. Meaning that to own normal people and people who have like Natural Resistance (basically those not stacking against you) you need huge LS. Max all your synergies right away, skills like BoS and Fade should remain at one point if you need them until you have synergies maxed. If you DO listen to what I say, you should be able to produce pretty saucy traps, but no melee. My 74 trapper does a max of like 104 dmg with claws lol. The claws I use are 2x +3 trap claws and on weapon switch I have a wizspike and SS. Basically I lay traps (Trap Claw is Shael'd for better speed in laying traps) and weapon switch for higher D, better resists, and much higher FCR for Teleport and MB.

Don't think you need teleport though. I rarely use enigma for its teleport. With just a lvl like 8 BoS from equip and i have about 20 5% FRW scs, I can outrun and hunt anyone. If people like to tele around, sometimes i'll join in sure, but it has never won or lost me a game. Cause i'm fast >:-)

But I have a Q, how many pts in MB? I've been doing just 1, but people have said more for longer stun time. Sounds like a waste of pts to me, but then again a longer stun time in PvP is never a bad thing.

Dont spam mindblast, its considered very bm. Use it in bursts, 2-3 shots here and there, nothing like the 30 second spamming of it w/ name lock.

No, it's NOT BM. Sorry. I played gimmeitam for well over a year and 1.09 WoF/MB trappers were pure name-lock/MB fanatics. It's a skill that is lost on so many these days as pubby trappers often completely disregard fast cast and the advantage it provides.

No one just "spams"30 seconds of MB anyway. If you don't combine it with trap laying you will never kill anyone; MB damage is just too low.

In any event, MB is the most powerful skill a good trapper has. They should always use it to BEST advantage. Just like bone necros fully synergize their bone spells and use marrows if they can, just like hammer pallys try to get their skills/equipment organized so they can one-hit-kill most opponents, just like blizz sorcs do the same. So many classes can be cheap. Just because people don't like MB or don't want to be bothered with FHR or good anti-trapper technique, they call them "cheap".

Yeah, I'm back able to get on bnet. Give me a day or so here to level her up. I'm doing a rebuild incorporating all of the recent findings/discussions in the assassin forum on bugs/hidden bonuses/glitches/etc. She's lvl 49 this second, she'll be 85 or so tomorrow night or Tuesday. I think I'll give you a real run for your money. Or you'll kick my *ss :clap: Either way, it'll be interesting.

I like to cast shadow and have her cast CoS and then MB, lay down traps, MB a bit more.... You'll figure it out.

Oh yeah, and one point in MB is enough.
