VLLD questions?

I want to make a melee level 9 dueler, but I don't know where to start. I hear assassins are great lvl 9 duelers, but I dont know if they are best.

I have a lot of 9max with ED jewels but besides that I have no gear.

Can someone tell me the best character, skill placement, and what kind of gear I should be trying to get for him.

OK I read that post, and I think a bash barb sounds really cool, but I have never heard it mentioned before. Can it really compete with other vlld builds?

I'd say a bash barb is viable, but you just never hear of them because of sacrifice pallys, sacrifice is more popular because it gets huge ed even at low levels and because it requires no mana!

in .09 you could possibly make one of these sacrifice pallys nearly invincible, manage to get 20% leech and you're set, the more the better in .09. (i had one of these in .09 with almsot 30% leech, even if he took off most of his leech he still got back more life than he lost when he landed a hit!)

But anyway back on topic yeah, a bash barb is pretty viable, and they can get more life than a pally if you want a reason why they're better than pallys :thumbsup:

the mini guides detail the most popular (and effective) duelers

it really comes down too how wealthy you are if u want to be very competative.
some builds do handle others better, and youll find that out, thats part of the fun :flip:

I can afford any gear in the game but if it is better spent on another class I don't want to waste my time on a class that isn't as good.

well,, im not gonna try to sway you away from your oringal plan. The bash barb is viable and can do extremly well, ....i have seen it, and i have lost to it.

Notice that many items are interchangable between classes.
You wont waste anything if you keep in mind what can be substituted on other builds.


if u really can get your hands on "ANY" items.. i suggest then not using the +8min +14max dmg rare jewels in a class specific item such as the +shout helm,, or +zeal scepter ,, save that for a pelta or your armor of choice

as for charms
ar/life mana/life LC's will be usable on all the melee builds, so u cant go wrong. as for common sets,uniques.. same thing.. vllds pretty much all use some very similiar gear

it can have +3 to skills,, but its just difficult to find a low level item with +3. let alone MORE then 1 skill with +3 on it

so finding a +3shout +3bash +3axe mastery 3 sock helm would probably be harder to find then a zod.

I found an orb with 3 to inferno and 2 socs (lvl 6 req) dunno always kinda wanted to try a lvl 9 inferno sorc, think this would be good? What kind of other gear am I looking at also, and skills?
