Reinstall?
*sighs*
takes soooooo long .........
but yah - TY
And it is a nice hat!
Hmm, i think i have gotten this error before. But i think all i did was take out my cd wipe it off with my shirt and stuck it back in and it worked. But it does say something about direct 3d. Try running the vid test again...Its worth a try.
Reinstall?
If anything goes wrong with my comp I just reinstall the program...it's about the only troubleshooting I know!

uninstall the game.
Defrag your hard drive
reinstall the game
Run the game in 2D mode
Defrag your hard drive
I bet your lag issues are fixed if you do this. Its either running in 3D mode, or your harddrive is cache-ing and the data is scattered all over, or a combination of both.

No, no, no Kurg,
Uninstall the game.
Threaten your PC with physical violence of an extreme nature.
Reinstall the game.
Run game while holding an electricfied cable in your other hand ready jam it into your PC if it gives you anymore problems. Make sure it knows its life is on the line.
Problem Solved.
Oh and Cy, I think the Binky message you got translates to .... "Please take off that dorky hat and I promise to run smooooothly for you".
Hot Damn .... I'm a PC wiz :D

or you can do like i do. Play it on a MAC. Always works like a charm. (hehe could not resist it)
hum seems i went a bit OT here, sorry
Anyway i took a look in my DII folder and i noticed that every time the program has been pached it leaves a patch info file. My first patch vas 1.02 :) and i hade them all with lots of a and b version except 1.07 must have taken a brake in the game then . During all my Diablo time i have never reinstalled my main installation of DII i have probably changed computers 5 times during this time but always just copied the folder to the new computer :D
An other fun thing i noticed. For some reason there is a folder that has 3 files for every char i have ever made on b.net. It is kind of nostalgic looking at all the names and remembering some of the chars. Oh man hundreds and hundreds of characters. Think that i called myself Moiskis years ago...
Its amazing to think back on the game and all it has given me. Probably the best spent € entertainment vice i have ever spent.

Reasons not to get a Mac:
-Ellen Feis (SP?)
-Some G5 ads they ran in the UK were apparently banned for falsely advertising the "power" of their computer
-Last I checked the high end video cards don't work with G5 mobos
-Round corners...don't want anyone poking their eyes out on the launch bar thingy. (Similar arguement against WinXP, but meh)
-You get all the compatability of Unix, and all the bugginess of Windows...best of both worlds
-Right Clicking.
Not that there's not plenty more reasons, but the above should provide a list of reasons to not use one solely on principle without even worrying about the Mac's performance (oxymoron).

I went 1 better - got my computer fried by a lightening strike.
Replaced components.
Didn't reinstall all the crap, just what I needed
Runs like a dream - and thats with a drive half the size  It obviously knows what happened to it's predecessor and knows not to mess with an angry mum to be

hehe Mouse, you won’t get me into a Mac vs. Pc argument :)
But i feel i have to correct you on some points...
Ellen Feis (SP?)
Wasn’t she just looovely?
-Some G5 ads they ran in the UK were apparently banned for falsely advertising the "power" of their computer
Don't know about this.
-Last I checked the high end video cards don't work with G5 mobos
Well I don't know about high-end video cards but i think the NVIDIA GeForce 6800 Ultra DDL is pretty powerful. There are a lot of tests out there and it seems this is probably as powerful as they come today.
-Round corners...don't want anyone poking their eyes out on the launch bar thingy. (Similar argument against WinXP, but meh)
Round corners hehe, i presume you mean the "dock" when you say the launch bar thingy. If so, you can increase its size to whatever size you want. If you have bad eyesight you can even turn magnification for "increasing the size" under the mouse. So even you (and your eyes) should be absolutely safe. But I trust you can increase the size of the launch thingy on a pc as well.
-You get all the compatibility of Unix, and all the bugginess of Windows...best of both worlds
hehe you do get the best from both worlds, stability of Unix and the things Windows will get in two years today :) Wait that’s not entirely correct Macs didn’t have viruses two years ago, nor do they now. I guess windows users have something mac users don't :D
-Right Clicking.
If you need right clicking just buy a mouse with two keys. And while you are shopping you might want to look at the ones with a scroll wheel.

Here's a link to someone with a similar issue. If you're going to be reinstalling, you may as well give this a shot.. plus it's kinda funny at the bottom where the guy gets pissed.

Stability of UNIX... Isn't there a forum rule about not posting oxymorons?
Also you should think of viruses as a darwinian thing.
You deviant mac users are not that many that we have to thin the herd!

The virus issue will change dramatically if Apple ever pulls more of the market share.

Cy, don't even joke about losing Binkies! The little guy to the left only likes one kind, and it's nearly impossible to find in stores... we've got one left, and if we lose it, his mother and I are toast :bonk:

You better put that thing on a shoelace and tie it to his wrist then. Don't want any unhappy babies.
Edit: Wait... There's a difference in them?
