I remember back in 1.09 GA/MS Amazon w/ burizon or windforce was easily the most popular character, and for good reason. Since coming back to 1.10 they seem to be few and far between.

they switched to necro and all they do is ask about marrowbug and if LR lowers magic resist for bone spirit
I have a lvl 83 zon in act 5 hell. I am just trying to get her finished then she will MF for me. Got a full Mav's set on her and hell has been relatively easy.
I shouldn't have said that...

Honestly, good physical damage bow + pierce + multishot for packs, GA for bosses, uniques, good leech and a high hp valk to tank, how can you not kick ***?

I think most of them became Hammerdins and think they have skill since they can hit things with hammers. Or Blizzard Sorceresses.
But I think you see a lot of zons living in the Pits. I think they do pretty well there.

Where have the amazons gone? Simple Answer
In 1.10 a pure bowazon (no lightning fury hybrid crap) takes some thinking and skill to build and use (ie. don't run face first into melee mobs and sit there spamming strafe/multi, you will die for sure). Since your typical 12-16 year old (i'm guessing the average age of a b.net player) often doesn't care about thinking when killing and just wants to press one button to obliterate everything, in their opinion bowazons "suxxorz".
Guided arrow no longer pierces, high levels of valk are necessary now, strafe is the killer now NOT multi. That and strafe requires good ranged tactics to get not get locked in dodging animations while trying to shoot.
A well equipped bowazon is just as deadly in 1.10 as she was in 1.09.
edit - To spencer --> Guided arrow is dead, it is a one point prerequisite in 1.10 nothing more. Strafe gets more MINIMUM arrows to shoot as you increase the skill level and at level 20 strafe you can rifle off 7 arrows at 2 fps each at a single target like a boss instead of firing away guided arrow at 8 or 9 fps per shot.
But due to the NextDelay on Strafe you might as well just use GA anyway against single targets (like the Act Bosses).
But due to the NextDelay on Strafe you might as well just use GA anyway against single targets (like the Act Bosses).
Next Delay is not a big problem. When you take into account the blocking by Bosses (e.g. Baal blocks 55%) the Next Delay restriction is less significant and Strafe out-performs GA by a good margin due to faster shooting (assuming a reasonable chance to hit for Strafe).
They found more productive work in the Pits.

Happen to know how many frames it takes Baal to block? 8)
All the amazons became Strafezon Pitrunners.
Re: Next delay....yea, it happens, but it still hits more times vs single targets than GA...add to the extra damage Strafe gains as you max it and the fact that Strafe pierces while GA doesn't. ('sides...less ias or a slightly slower bow *ahem* Buriza, should help offset next delay somewhat)
aaaannnd Strafe is excellent versus BOTH multiple and single targets (vs GA's just single targets, neccesitating another skill to deal with multiples) and I think we can see why Strafe is the preferred skill over GA.

I totally concur. i was one of the multitude of lvl 99 GA/Multi Zons back in 1.09. and finally, in 1.10 after making an IK barb, frost zealot, tesladin, summoner/bone necro, meteorb, blizz sorc and avenger pally, I finally decided to get a zon running again. I never used strafe and decided to try it out. Basically, IT ROCKS. It's loads of fun.
Now, please help me as I don't know what to do after maxing strafe. There's so many options...(gotta love the zon)

I believe it's 0. He has no blocking animation.

After making sure your Valk hits slvl 17 (with +skills), try FA...even without the CA synergies, it's an excellent skill. Or, if you're feeling skimpy with points, pump FA to like 5-10, the rest into CA for increased damage without the mana cost. FA's still a skill of choice for the Bowazon and Hybrid in 1.10.
I think a Mazezon will be my next build, especially if I can make a HoJ bow...was gonna be an IK Barb, but I see too many of them die during Baal runs, or stand back complaining how much IK Barbs suck.

Baal's block:
40% in normal
45% in nm
55% in hell

He meant blocking SPEED not block %
All act bosses that block have no block animation (0 frames).
