View Full Version : I cant hit anything!
Ok im level 33 in beginning act 1 nightmare (doing cain quest) and im a duel claw assasin using martial arts and i have about a 58% chance to hit the monsters that im fighting with! That seems pretty pathetic to me. Is level 33 kind of low to be in act 1 nightmare??? The percents are always annoying so ive been putting tons of points into dex and if it wasnt for my 20 vit 20 energy war hat id be dying much quicker then i already am. If i take all my stuff of heres my stats...
Strength 70
Dex 87
Vit 50
Energy 43
And i still only have 58 chance to hit stuff. I am even wearing 2 rings with 100 ar each...instead of other rings that are life steal and resistance. So basically im wondering what the hell?

Perhaps put more points into dex.....
Also, are you pumping the level of your main attack or do you have lots of points in secondary skills? Initially you should get a lot of points into your main attack for both damage and AR bonus. In any event, the solution is probably to pump dex some if you don't have access to big AR boosting eq.
You could also socket ETH runes in your claws put points into CM and pump your main attack.
Also what is your level in relation to the monsters level. You being a higher level will make them easier to hit

im putting them all into my main attack which is pheonix strike and and my shadow master. Should I keep wearing those 100 each AR rings though? I have others like manald and leech rings but it seems like i really need the ar for now. And when should i start putting points into claw mastery and my finishing move (d.claw). Oh and is it really true that pheonix strike sucks in hell? (and that tiger strike is the only good charge up)

eeek god no, angelics or fools claw? Dex may be the WORST way to get AR

YES
you can easily get to ~40 in a5 normal, there's no reason for you to be in NM wasting points into dex

my dual claw sin has 17k AR at lvl76 with only 69 dex and mediocre gear, pumping dex on a shieldless non-kicking assassin just seems like a terrible idea to me

This person's gear consists of a pair of 100 AR rings. Obviously he doesn't seem to have access to even standard low end AR pumping unique gear. "Mediocre" gear for most people on this forum is still damn hard to get for the majority of people who just play the game occassionally and mess around.
What gear can he shop or craft or imbue that will fix his AR problem right NOW? I can't think of any. It's easy to recommend angelics (hyper cheap to boot), for example, but a person can easily play all the way through to hell baal and never see an angelic drop. My recommendation of pumping dex solves an immediate problem.

He's level 33, demon limb requires a clvl of 63. That idea's out.
Angelics.....and what if he doesn't have them and is not able to trade anything of value?
Everyone seems to assume that the average player can get this basic gear but it's simply not the case.

Dex is still uselss for AR! A2 um combat and offensive I think both get blessed aim aura in norm. Go for it.

200AR is a nice boost, the best advice anyone can give him is to go to NORMAL where you can get experience and hit things, pumping dex will deprive him of str/vit down the road, it is an extremely shortsighted solution to a problem that doesn't even exist, just level up in normal

I agree! Return to normal and do lots of baal runs! I usually leave normal at around lvl 45. U beeing higher lvl than the monsters in nm will improve ur chance-to-hit.
And try not to put more points into energy, if u dont have some mana leach then I suggest u get some asap...
Claw Mastery is another way to go. Finding claws with +AR/lvl or the Angelic Ring/Ammy are wonderful.
I don't usually start NM until lvl 35-40 if I want to play to play. If I'm trying to go through as fast as possible, I stay in Normal until lvl 50ish. It is far more fun to play through. I find it more difficult, though the challenge is half the fun.

Level is too low to hit consistently. I'd advise going back to normal baal runs to level. You can get to 45 in an hour.
NM should be at lot easier at level 45+.
Too many wasted points in dexterity (for a dual-claw build) and energy that you’ll never get back. It’s probably not what you want to hear, but you might be better off to just restart this character. If you do, plan out your skill and stat point allocation before hand instead of “guessing” as you go along. Also, if you listed what kind of equipment you have available, others could provide you with some more detailed, focused help.
Just get at least lvl 45 before you go to nm. That way your chance to hit will become alot and alot better. The lvl difference between you and the monsters you attack is alot more importent then the actuall AR you have.
lvl more and get a ravenfrost, monsters will run up to u to get hit.

He can't get his hands on angelic so surely ravenfrost will be easy.
