can lvl 9 LLD beat lvl 18 LLD?

Considering if they both are geared smilarly I don't think it is possible essepcially since conc has such a huge def bonus and they can have more more life.

I dueled this lvl 18 barb and I just could not hit him regardlesss with my tiger strike. He then told me to work on my LLD which I don't think is all that bad considering I can get most within my level.

Any thoughts?

Unless you completely overwhelm them in equip, you will lose. Besides the fact that they get much better equip (good dmg charms, 15 life scs, 15max jewels easily obtained, angelics, cow boots, the list goes on etc.), your chance to hit is low because of their level.

If they're pubby and they don't know how to make a decent 18er then I'd say yes. Don't take that guy's advice, even if you put your level 9 gear on a level 18 assassin with a similar build you would be much better matched.

I don't get the point of this thread...? Since 90% of llds under 18 are melee there is no way to outplay them really. Of course a lvl 9 lld on an 18 thats just lvling now ment for lld the 9 will win. But both ment for lld the 18 will win.

Hmmm... I think probably not... Assuming both have comperable gear (whether it be low end, mid, or top notch gear, as long as its the same "grade") the level 18 will win, unless he is some oddball build, like.... a poison creeper druid :uhhuh:

Basically, your average, "equal for level" build at level 18 will beat the level 9, however, that can very a bit. As others said, a very well equipped level 9 can smoke a poorly built level 18, and as you get higher up, like level 14, you have a better chance of beating a level 18.
Heres my little story to back myself up ;)

My level 14 assassin is quite well built, i daresay the best level 14 or under HC ladder dueler on UsEast (and yes, any hcl easties may pm me and ill duel them, if their char is level 16 or lower, though ill say right now, a 16 jabber will probably smoke me if shes built well)

She can do up to 500ish pvp damage when fully charged, and has 530+ life, so that means my opponent has to be doing over 3100 listed damage to kill me, inother words, a level 18 charger who is quite well built could get a good hit and do it, but a merely decent level 18 wont 1hit me.
I dueled a level 18 paladin, who people (using maphack) in the game, told me was using a 27 max helm (awesome level 9 helm, too low +max to be good at lvl 18) a 59 max gothic plate (good armor for him) His shield didnt look like a paladin only, so i figure it was not an ed/max one, and his weapon didnt look like clegs (no deadly strike to ko me with) So i accepted his duel.

He charged me, I blocked it (know how to duel chargers, walk dont run, stand against a wall for first charge) he ran away to back up for another, I had two charge ups on him from the first charge, he charged again, blocked again, 3 charge ups, released on him, not a great hit (no DS in there) and took him to half life, not sure if he chickened or fluxed, but he was definitly beaten, so yes, a mediocre level 18 dueler can be beaten by a level 14 who is using some pretty decked out gear.

ok u duplicate the Vlld9 bashers gear and stick it on an 18 with conc...the 9 is gonna loose

put vlld 9 tiger strike gear on an 18 tiger striker.., the 9 will loose.

NOt only does a NON hell rushed lvl 18 get a total of 21 skills (1 more then hell rushed 9's), they also get more life and way more..stats.

and Concentration? this lvl 18 gets the AR/level advanatge as well as "CONCENTRATION" its s totaly a different and stronger skill then bash. plus the lvl 9 has a to hit disadvanatge

Yeah I think he was sore cause he knew my hi level characters owned him :D
