Furysin Decision

My furysin is at level 66 and this is her equipment.

Rings: 2 Angelic
Ammy: Angelic
Armor: Vipermagi (25 res all :-( )
Belt: Iratha's (Looking for an Orphan's belt for now (not begging I'll find one))
Shield: Whitsan's Gaurd (I have to trade for a Taimat's but I can get that too.)
Helm: Guillame's Face
Gloves: Hellmouth
Weapon: Hexfire (for the ITD)

Here's my decision. I recently found an Um rune from the NM Hellforge. Should I make a Duress armor or Cresent Moon first? My damage with max venom now is somewhere near the 450-650 region. I broke the guide a little and raised my dex up to 110 so I equip a Cryptic Sword, if I can get a 3 socket one.

P.S. I'm not a botter or hacker, I've just been too busy/lazy to trade for what I need. If you need to see it in action to make a decision I'm *Croutonman on East.

Hey. I would tend to go with Duress. It's uses are endless as far as most phys dmg char are concerned. Crescent Moon is nice also but not as useful as Duress..ie) Ama's can use Duress but not Cres Moon. Either way it's all good :) Have fun with the build, I know I am :)

If you're using Hexfire or any other ITD weapon (passion runeword later when you have the runes ?) you'll probably won't need the angelic partial set ?

I can't hit Baal with out them or my damage is really low. Ravenfrosts would be nice.

if i were you, i would make a cresent moon first. its 10% and 7% attacks on striking would both work wonderfully with fury - particularly in NM. Duress is nice, but is better left for a more melee-oriented char, and its 15% CB works better with melee and with a single target (bosses).

I would definitely not replace Viper+Cresent (good for general game play) with Duress+Hexfire (not bad for a single target).

Welcome to the wonderful world of the Furysin...I'm pleased to see more and more starting to make these, anyhow.

First :
trade your Hellmouth for Lavagout.. that should be possible. That will first of all help your Attack Rate problem a little, and will give you some more damage. Hellmouth is a nice glove but Lava is better. End gloves will be : Soul Drainers.

Second :
While Viper is a great armor... for a Caster... I'll have to point out you're not a Caster. Mentioned Earlier was Duress... Duress is your end armor. If you can't get it. Get : Rattlecage or Toothrow. (Rattle has Crushing Blow which is Uber.. Tooth has Open Wound which only gets better)

Belt :
While Orphans is nice, look for a String of Ears.. great mid level belt, and one that is also nice is Siggards Belt. Yes the Slow works.. you'll find that come in handy.

Rings and Amulet :
While it does give you attack rating. Look for ITD. It's a lot more helpful. Though if yo'ure able to get ITD (like Hexfire which you use, Cresent Moon runeword etc) yo'ull wanner switch. I suggest Highlords Wrath + Ravenfrost + Dual leech ring with mana leech or manalds.. since your gloves ATM don't have any mana leech capabilities.

Weapon :
First Choice : Etheral Stormlash
Second : Stormlash
Third : Etheral Cresent Moon BA or Cryptic Sword.
Fourth : Cresent Moon Runeword in any one handed weapon.

My advice about the Um :
Well Cresent Moon is more important than Duress, since Duress isn't neede din Hell... Cresent Moon is. BUT I know how hard it is to get an Etheral Cryptic Sword with 3 Sockets.. so I suggest you keep trying to get that damn weapon for 1 week and if you don't get it... make Duress. From my trading sessions I even think you can get a 15+% Duress for Um. Yes it's a gamble at times making runewords. So sometimes it's better to go for midlevel and not sit with a 10% at the end.

Look for a Demon Limb .. that will also work wonders - and if you get it .. since you're using ITD from Hexfire.. put those Angelic items in stash for later use.

Duress is nice, but is better left for a more melee-oriented char, and its 15% CB works better with melee and with a single target (bosses).
CB works better with Melee? To some extend yes.. but no I don't agree with that at all. 15% yeah that sucks.. But combine it with his other gear : Guilluames and Goblin it's not just 15%... it's 75%.. and then the 15% is important. While no he's not melee, he's not worthless. The speed of his blades more than amble makes up for the difference in melee vs ranged when it comes to crushing blow.

Not a matter of replacing.. it's a matter of going most of the game without. If you have tried to get a Cryptic Etheral 3 SOcketed Sword yo'ull know that you can run with a normal dagger through hell before someone says : Yeah I have one for trade.... (and later) ... Sure that is cool I'll accept that in trade.

So while Viper is good, it sucks compared to Duress.
Hexfire is at least desent.

Yes hands down get a Cresent first .. if possible. But don't wait weeks on weeks on weeks to get one, since by that time you'll most likely have gotten yourself another Um rune and then .. .well you could have used that Duress in the mean time.

All I'm saying is : Look at what you can get here and now.. or within a week. If you can't get it... go for second best.
