View Full Version : Charsi Robbed Me

I want to know if anyone else has ever experienced a problem like this.

I had my lvl 85 wind druid take a "Stone" Runeword Armor to Charsi in a normal difficulty game for repair. The durability on the armor was maxed at 36 to 36. However, the charges were all very low. Realizing this I made sure my druid had a ton of money before I asked how much it would cost to repair. Charsi quoted me about 101,000 gold. So with my Stone armor in my inventory I clicked the repair icon and clicked the armor. Instantly my gold reserves dwindled to almost nothing, and I took a look at my "Stone" armor's charges only to realize in HORROR that nothing happened. Now correct me if I'm wrong but I was certain that my non-etheral "stone" armor could have its charges replenished in exchange for gold. So I tried to repair again, but this time Charsi said it was gonna cost 160,000. Now I know this isn't a big deal and I dont have any before and after shots of this happening, but I was wondering why Charsi ripped me off. My friend said that I had to wear the stone armor to have the charges fixed, but that didn't work either. So I made a new game and talked to Larzuk. He was able to hook me up thankfully. Whats the matter with Charsi? Has anyone else been robbed like this or am I the only idiot who gave up 100k for absolutely nothing in return?

Welcome to the forums, and I'm not sure about this one.

I offer a similar welcome and share a similar befuddlement.

If I can find something with some charges, I'll see if I can find something out.

Edit: Well, I just tried to repeat this with an orb that had charges on it, and couldn't ever get Charsi to rip me off. She must really like me!

Thank you for the kind welcomes.

I think the best way to avoid this problem is to avoid Charsi. Has anyone ever had a similiar problem with other NPC's in any other acts?

As a newcomer myself, I also extend my welcome to a great forum and community. Although I have not experienced this myself, I'd suggest that you try the cube recipe to recharge your items instead of using Charsi. I hope it works well for you.

Welcome, as for me Charsi has not ripped me off in repairs, but I have noticed that sometimes when I sell stuff, especially flawless gems, that she only pays $5000 instead of the $7500 that all other npc's will give you. I have gotten to where I automatically go to act 5 Lazurk to sell my stuff to, even if I am doing cows.

Perhaps you are selling it to norm charsi? I dont know, its just a guess.

And as for the charges... Maybe Charsi in norm is unable to restore charges due to her lvl, depending on the charges.

PS: The restore for armors recipe doesnt work for charges. So dont try that.

Your guess is correct. In Normal, the maximum gold you receive from the vendor starts at 5000 and goes up by 5000 per act. In Nighmare, the max for all vendors is 30,000, with the max of 35,000 in Hell.

They do as long as you add the flawed gem to the mix.

I've never had a problem with Charsi and in fact prefer her. She buys for the same price as all other acts, but sells things for cheaper. You can test this yourself just by buying and selling the same item in different acts (if you have gold to spare...).

im not sure if that runeword gets any "skill charges" such as 12 charges of lvl 1 hydra for example

when u repiar anything with charges u refill them

maybe u dodnt repair it but just got ur skills back up

-few mins later-

didnt wanna get flamed for not looking if stone had no charges

Stone
Shael + Um + Pul + Lum
Character Level: 47 Body Armor
4 sockets +60% Faster Hit Recovery
+250-290% Enhanced Defense
+300 Defense Vs. Missile
+16 To Strength
+16 To Vitality
+10 To Energy
+15 to all Resistances
80 Charges Level 16 Molten Boulder
16 Charges Level 16 Clay Golem

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

thats what u paid for

Phaeax: Remember that price depends on what affixes spawn on the item. If Charsi and for example Fara would sell the exact same item, they would cost the same as well. (excluding quests that lower NPC prices, such as A2Q1).
