whats up all,this would be my first post :clap: :howdy: ....... back to the subject, I was wondering what in the world it is? When I was watching my cousin play they kept on talking about MP, he told me it was map hack.....is this a bad thing? can someone help me out thanks,
Mapp Hack of MH as they call it is an illegal 3rd party program that lets the user see the map.
It also allows the user to do other less than honest things as well.
Anyone using it is at risk of having their accounts closed and their CD Key(s) banned from Battle.net.

Try www.google.com search: map hack. and you will get overfloated by map hacks. The question is then up to you. "Do you wan't to be a bad playeror will you play in the way the game was meant to?"
The other question is "Do I want to download maphack and have a 99.9% chance that it's a trojan of some sort?"

It sad and pathetic how some players would stoop just to get what they want. Sometimes the popularity of db2 is it own downfall as it shows just how desperate people can become . It is it's own curse in a way. Very much like Counterstrike. :(

Generally, the word "hack" kinda gives it away.
I may be wrong but I doubt I've come across a good and beneficial computer program which has the word "hack" in its name. Of course, "anti-hack" would be a different matter but I digress...
Oh My god oh my god oh my god...do you know what we should do? Spread a "Map hack" around, that isn't really a map hack...but...get this...is either 1) A virus that deletes other map hack programs, or 2) A different kind of hack, that rather then opening it up, closes the map down when A different, or this, map hack is used!
Or maybe that's just crazy and overboard...

actually i enjoy the game called "Nethack". Its a rougue-like that evolved on the internet from a game called hack (hence nethack), which was derived from the kind of play, hack and slash.

Yes, that's bye indeed for you tacoblogg. Pimping hacks and providing links to cheats is a bannable offence over here.
Nethack is indeed a good game! Hacks aren't generally bad, they are just programs to run around codes to do something the original code wasn't meant to do. Fixes are just hacks made by the original coders in a sense. Indeed hackers (and by that I mean the white hat good guys) helped start a lot of things that are part of the internet today.

ok, I cant believe what I'm hearing all of you guys are bashing the hell out of mh. :rant: But what I cant help is how many of you guys who've posted here, has ever complained when someone with mh allowed you to get to baal in under a minute? :scratch: And how many of you have ever complained when someone with mh, allowed you to gain 10 lvls in under an hour?? mh+teleport=lvl'ing. and faster misc. runs for items. Now i'm just a dirty newb, and I dont use them, but I'm sure as hell not going to bash the people that help me lvl up quicker or do runs faster.

Simple answer, maphack is a cheat, always was, always will be. It is an illegal 3rd party program that gives those using it an unfair advantage over those that do not.
Good as it seems to those that use it, a cheat is a cheat.
End of story.
I've never had the benefit of gaining levels thanks to MH. I don't think I want to... kinda takes a lot out of the game, IYAM.

I guess a decent number of gamers use maphack. Simply because they can't play without it without dying constantly.
If you take a look at some of the pictures where people are bragging. "Hey I've got A BotD" And you see a socketed Item and the [6] number after the name you can see who's a cheater.
So, what's the point in bragging about success which isn't really achieved on your own? I'm not talking about getting tips from other players or the occassional friendly freebie - using a prog to manipulate the game to your benefit kinda takes "bending the rules" a little too far.

I know this probably takes the argument a little far but if everything in life is to be made easier using unscrupulous means, then what's the point in doing anything? There'll be no value in hard work. Don't condone MH, regardless of how lazy people can be.

I sincerely hope newcomers are not stupid enough to follow your advice.
Has it ever occurred to you that some people like to play the game as it is supposed to be played, without cheating? Not everyone wants the easy way out.
Apart from that, this forum takes a stance against all cheating on the closed realms - if you can't deal with that, then this is obviously not the place for you.

Every time someone mentions map hack, or bots, or pretty much any cheat some scrub jumps to the defence. I was going to say that I wish they would take a long walk off a short pier, but that would be wasting a wish. So instead I'll wish that when ever anyone tried to use map hack, or a pindle bot, etc. that their diablo 2 cd key would spontaneously combust, destroying itself and everything in their computer, that's what I wish. I leave games when idiots start spamming "follow me", and any one who needs maphack to do a baal run should just give up.

Yes, somehow they always "know" that the pier is short, without having to explore it. :lol:
