Hello, im new to these forums and i have played a light trapper on the old ladder, one build i've been having alot of trouble with is the charger with full light absorb and lots of other full absorbers, just wondering if u guys have any tips and strategys u'd like to share on how to defeat these guys, thx alot! :clap:

Well, there isen't really any. If you're a single element PvP'er, it's just the way it goes. You should be able to get most people to fight fairly and not stack resistance and absorb, as long as you play fairly with them, and don't trap the town and naked kill them over and over. I know with myself, I always start off with minimal absorb/resist and don't mind loseing fairly, but if someone starts NK'ing and being an idi0t then I'll just throw on the absorb and let them heal me. Some form of other attack would help, however, if you invest in something else your lightening traps won't be as powerful as they could be. Your character as a whole however, would be much more powerful, since it woulden't have the inherent flaw of only having one attack.

Maybe try working fire blast into the mix. Your light dmg will lower, but youll have another element to attack with. Or you could always try just mbing them to death. They will probally get tired of it, or die maybe..

I absorb trappers all the time. Everynow and then I come across a smart one who is either WW or a Kicker too. Don't use fireblast the damage on it will be so low anyone using GA (for max light resist w/ tgods) will hardly be hurt at all. Only class that should try 2 elements instead of an element and melee is sorc because a sorc can't really be melee. (except with enchant which is an element...)

Vs. fully synergized LS trappers with a build built completely around just that ONE attack, I am starting to lean more and more to absorb. Being a one-trick pony is a build weakness and is ripe for exploitation. My fire trapper ALWAYS had a dragon talon back-up for absorbers. Always. You can't absorb physical damage. I even carried a lacerator in my stash for melee absorbers who would normally not be beatable with just a decent talon. To NOT have a secondary attack is evidence of a poorly designed dueling build, at least in the cases where your primary can be completely nullified with a simple gear switch.
Too bad we can't absorb magic damage....

Eh? 9500 FB damage?
level 20 FB, with every other point into synergies (ALL skill points up to lvl 99), with 20 plus skills gives FB damage of 5266 - 6175.
Please feel free to lay out where the other 3325 points of damage are coming from.
Even with 25 plus skills, your damage is 6612 - 7707. That's still WELL short of your claim.
With 30 (thirty!!) plus skills and level 50 fireblast, the max damage is 9238.
With 25 plus skills and say 3 fire facets that's 8863 damage.
I dont give my build sorry, but its possible :)

Ooops phresh got ***** in his lie how cute. Wanna stop giving people terrible advice. You make no sense anyway, your telling him to use FB because it can hit 9.5k damage but then you neglect to tell him how. Sorry even if it was possible (which it isn't most of all as a 2nd skill for a light trapper) whats the point in posting it if you won't tell him how. YOU are clearly the one who knows nothing and stop posting everywhere I post disagreeing with me. Your reminding me of dumbpig but at least he knows what he is talking about....
Its easy to figure out how... but you oviously can't which is the sad part.
And yes I dont know what im talking about!!!!. I figured it out, but yet i know nothing...hehe i am uber noob!! And also, i have to post where you post cause your leading people the wrong way all the time "dont max fb!" "use duress!" "i use absorb cause i'm cool", no one likes you shut up. You think you have so much experience but your posts prove you wrong. Stop contradicting yourself it makes me sick.

I assume you have this optimal gear and will show someone since you say you are doing 9500 FB damage right now?

No it's just his paper char and with "Optimal" gear it's much higher. To bad for him he'd have to be a very high level and sacrafice block/dr/resist/and or speed (Sorry no points left for any of this) I'm sure you'll **** all with your char who will live through maybe 1 charge?
Edit:@guy giving ww advice when he has never made a wwsin based on his clearly godly and superior to EVERYONE friends. I don't see how I am contradicting myself.
Maxing FB will give you another form of damage that will blow to 90 resist. (no casting MB even since you'll be casting those lovely 9.5k FBs)
Duress is cheaper and in some cases better than enigma and bramble (mostally just cheaper than this one)
I could care less if no one likes me but that doesn't seem to be true. Since the majority of people arnt saying they don't like me that would make you wrong. Some people (blobs mule lorddrift you few other people who are pissed because I insulted their little maphack/bots) isn't everybody sorry. Please stop starting 90% of your sentances with and it's irritating.

Get a lower resist wand and use fireblast, or go WW hybrid.
A wwsin with max ls and 2 synergies, a few trap gcs, a rare fool's/cruel claw, etc, will utterly destory almost anything. It's basically the same logic as a V/T, get about 4-5k traps so they put on tgods + whatever else, and then kill them with whirlwind.

I like LLD-Vampire ---> Anyway, I think the WW Hybrid would be the best bet because it doesn't need huge point investment to make it effective (could just rely on a weapon switch)... But to be honest, people should really use absorb because traps are very powerful (with mindblast :worship: ) and if a build has to rely on 1 counterable attack to win then the other player deserves to win... Anyway, :thumbsup:

But I don't asume that stuff. You saying it doesn't make it true.... Whenever I post I know enough about what I am posting (unlike some people who give adive to ww sins after having never made one), Your trapper might as well be a single element, your fireblast isn't good, and I do "own" every trapper except the ones that are smart enough to be either kicker, ww, ranger too.

Some absorb is necessary. A high level fully synergized LS will one hit kill most people w/o any absorb. Throw in mindblast and some skill and it becomes impossible, esp. for melee who need to close and will take multiple hits while trying to attack.
Vs. moderate LS, T'Gods alone is fine.
Vs. Insane high LS, T'God's + wisp is necessary.

HAHAHA I remeber her she said she owned ANY caster and her bone nec owned ANY melee I told her a singer would kill her. She responded with "I said ANY caster idiot barbs arnt casters" damn that was funny.
Phresh you clearly have some SEVERLY select reading (like select hearing) everyone disagrees with you almost and yet you continue to tell ME that I am wrong pay attention. Absorbing a single element is fine. Anyway I usually don't absorb I just put on GA and salv then charge lock them. If I actually went as far as to having them heal me I would be killed by anything else in the game.

Lol I've been thinking of making a pvper that uses mind blast and SM. Dunno if there is a sticky or something but I've been noticeing SMs with 1 point and + skills doing decent damage and they seem to have A lot of AR (I kept getting hit with 19k def). I'll probably make a thread about it later with my gear/skill thoughts. I need to find out more about how SM gets bonuses from points you put in your skills.

No it's gonna be attacked first. Only sorcs and singers can really use mercs to that degree in my opinion.

LLD-Vamp.... if you cant beat a trapper without using massive absorb then your character really sucks... and if you cant bring in a different character to whoop the assn then your other characters suk as well. Using t-gods and guardian angel isnt really a big deal... with high traps it barely gives you a good advantage but slapping on a lightaber, tgods, 2 whisps, blackhorns, and a guardian angel really proves that your character sucks *** without good equiptment and personaly i would say to remake all your characters cuz you dont have one who can fairly beat an assn. whats the point of duelng if your chance to win is 100%. lol shows how good ur skills r yah, just cuz ur equiptment is uber doesnt mean u are just means u r a pussy who must totaly immobilize his opponent in order to win... how sad sad sad you r. but your right any character who uses one form of attack should realy expect to get owned by dumb asses like you. just my 2 cents

By linking around i meant just looking around an i appologize for being an ***. But i still think if you need to use enough absorb to make you invulnerable to a trapper than your character sucks.
As for strategy... play aggresively. scare him alittle make him avoid ur traps while u chase his little beinde all around the moor.
when figting sorcs get m name locked and stun the crapout of them lay a trap an stun rinse and repeat as needed.
frenzy barbs will run all around the moor to attack and get frenzy up so the can run like a bat out of hell (well bats fly but you get the idea) and when they do get to you can attack very very very very fast. so if you notice a pattern you can either chase him while he is frenzying up or make a cheap circle of traps and occasionaly mb him while running in circles.

wow no one even likes him on the forum, ive dueled his trapper, he has no skills other than stand and cast traps, and he has no godly builds because ive seen him killed by other trappers and complains soly on lag while i was watching him duel his only strat was to stand and cast while the other trapper actually placed traps at certain choke points and knew what he was doing, phresh gets so excited when he owns chars who cant take trappers, such as melee chars
the only trap strat i enjoy using is by luring them too a house, placing a ls by one end if the house and off then place one off screen on the other side, so when the they see the trap shoot they run to the other side of the house to try to outflank you and get greeted by a face full of litening =D

just because derekdoo said that he is now my favorite person in th whole world :) its the best strat for bowzons who have to chase you and when u hide IN the house and the sorc has to tele in she teles into 5 9k trap only to be mb lockeed and boof fried sorc for lunch.... works decent with enigma bone necros too unless they bs through the door then u have to get ur but out.
LOL, using a house has to be one of the lamest strategies..

why is that? though i prefer to chase my victims a house is a very good way to take down sum 1 who is uber and cant be beaten by any other means.... like a marrowalk/enigma/hoto/+pnb gcs 12+/full resists/tgods wearing bone necro... very very hard to beat but if they tele in the house and get stun locked they r doomed.
