You know, I've made this exact build (albeit in single-playerr) and I'm stuck in Hell Act I. The Freezing Arrow does make a very powerful impression, especially with an Act 2 Might merc. But unless you have a good secondary attack, like I don't, you're in for trouble. I'm gonna have to rebuild mine with a barb or perhaps an Act 3 lightning merc.

Can anyone out there help us with this?

Don't put points in Ice arrow, rather get cold charms.

The might merc is actually a good choice. (Not for your FA, but for himself to kill faster)

If you don't have good gear, I think hell will be impossible. For a lv 20 FA you really need a lot of ML or you'll be spending more time in town buying pots than playing. And at what lv are you in hell? If you go there within the low 70ies, you will have a hard time hitting (FA will autohit, but the arrow in the FA won't, making it hard to leech)

What kind of gear can you get? I mean..it would be easy to just say: Slap on your Full Mavs..because that rocks with FA.

A low end bows that should work with your build is Magewrath...but you should really let us know first what gear is available to you.

can you accept a wpn switch to using LF?

if you only put 1 in ice arrow (you should, as already said), 17 in valk, 5-8 in pierce, you can get lvl 15 LF by lvl 80, or lvl 20 LF by lvl 85. all the rest of skill pts after lvl 85 go to pierce (or add a few to d/a/e).

with this setup, what you are sacrifying is not pierce, but penetrate. But the good news is cold and light dmg from FA/LF do not depend on that. You won't reliably do physical dmg, so you only need a bow that shoots very fast and helps with mana leech. Your overall gear only needs to be good enough to help you survive in Hell. (You could turn to GA, but then you'd have to get a bow that reliably delivers enough physical dmg.) Also, you won't need high dex as many other bowazons do. Your str/dex are needed only to lift your wpn (bow+javelin) and wear your desired gear. So you could end up with more stat pts to put into your vita than many other bowazons. You even could (only if you feel you have to) put some in energy.

the LF approach will turn your "dead" zon back into a killing machine, and do not require very special items.

at lvl 85, it will give you: 1K avg cold dmg per FA, and 12K max light dmg per LF (not including the dmg from splashing, piercing and +skills).

lack of physical dmg and constantly running out of mana? enlarge your mana pool, and pick up super manas and drink them.

Hey thanks for the advice everyone... but instead of lightning fury do think i could put it maybe strafe?.... kuz im using this skill planer and i think that with stafe i will have my back up attack... so the skills would be...

20 freezeing arrow
20cold arrow
17 valk
15 strafe
5 in pierce
1 in prereqs
and the rest into pierce

now would that be a pretty good build if i had a good bow?... :flip:

I think it's an okay build. but...

1- your AR may not be high enough to as effectively use strafe as a typical strafer. You can use Inner Sight, and ITD to help deal with this though.

2- Going for strafe puts "special" requiremnets on your gear: including at least IAS and dmg.

3- Assume that you effectively freeze and strafe your foes. Another disadvantage would be that the avg killing speed may very well be slower than if you use LF. Howver, while strafe requires a good bow, LF goes along very well with virtually any javelin (even with crappy or crack ones).

4- Optionally, consider put only 1 or 6 skill pts in strafe and only use it as a backup.

Actually, the other thing you may want to consider is keeping a demon limb in your stash or cube. Cast enchant from it when you start a game, it lasts for like 11 minutes and gives somewhere around the same AR boost as lvl 20 or so penetrate!! (I'm not sure on the exact amount off the top of my head, but it's a sizeable boost.)

This is a really easy 5 or 10 second way to add a huge amount of AR to any character that rely's on AR for their attacks, I use it on almost all of my characters .. except casters/summoners, or others that don't require AR.

On my wws straifer, I actually maxed penetrate and use a demon limb.. but I'm an AR junkie ... that much is definitly not a required thing.. :)

If you decide to go LF and FA, you might want to try 1 point in MS with a Melody amazon bow. About +10 from gear should give lots of arrows. That with a bit of ml should solve your mana problems. Still you might want to put some points in evergy. Going dry every few shots is a bit of a pain in the proverbial ***
