Horadric Staff SNAFU

Hmmm, so here's the deal: I'm a level 40-something in Nightmare Act 2 and I was just about to enter Duriel's chamber. I worked my way through the tomb found the the little "orifice" or whatever that you jam the staff in to so I tp back to town to pick it up. but it's not in my stash.. so I look in my cube, and it sortof "appears" like the animation when you initialy combine the amulet and the staff. but now the name is in RED... and it won't let me use it to open the tomb...?? Anyone had this problem or know how to fix it??

is this single player or on bnet? And did u already create the staff or did u just have the 2 pieces when u reached duriel? Im not sure how to solve this problem b/c ive never seen it. Perhaps a screenshot of the staff will help.

You must have taken the staff from another difficulty, because Red lettered items are ones from the difficulty you are no longer in.

I have no idea what happened. I was on Bnet. I ended up having to quit the game and start a new one. I was deffinately in the nightmare game I was supposed to be ( i got the pieces in nightmare) and yes they were combined. Weird. So i started over and it didn't happen again.. oh well.... :scratch:
