View Full Version : Multi/Guided anymore?
does anyone ever make multi/guided zons like back in 1.09 days? seems like everyone is shifting over to strafezons.
I have a made few (ladder and non) strafezons and one multi-guided (non ladder) zon recently (only started playing about 4 months ago, but made almost exclusively zons) and much prefer the Strafezon.
However, with my Strafezons I have multi-shot as my left click option and strafe as my right click. I put a few points in to mutli (also a prerequisite) enough to get about 10 or 11 arrows with +skills. Multi does work better in certain situations.
As for guided, my pure multi-zon does have max guided and it's great for bosses and single targets, but my strafers don't use it. They kill just fine without it even on bosses and single targets. I'd rather spend the points maxing Valk and getting Dodge/Avoid/Evade higher.

my zon is multi/guided and has a max valk too. The only problem is in hell it gets hard to kill things, the Strafe speed is just too hard to match. So i'm planning a rebuild soon. :-/
Since GA doesn't pierce anymore, why fire 1 arrow at a time when you can fire 10 arrows that are auto-aim?
If the minimum number of arrows for strafe hadn't been increased, the MS/GA build would have still been alive as it was in 1.09

To me, the MS/GA build is better. Strafe does have it's advantages over Multishot, as does Multishot over Strafe, but it's all in the matter of personal opinion. I must admit, Strafe does enhance the killing speed, but even with a 2 frame attack speed I can't stand the Strafe lock and the fact that it only hits one target then goes to the next.(pierce CAN change that, but something has to be directly behind it). One thing I really like to do which Strafe can't do (as well) is when you setup a Valk in a pile of monsters, run off screen and blast them with MS.
MS/GA all the way!

Hmm...the player lock really worries me. i've never played a strafer before, so i guess it's only fair that i try it out. Only one way to know!
Also, Strafe works a LOT better for knockback.

i have to say that when i first started strafers, the lock worried me, and i noticed it all the time. But as time passed i noticed it less, and it's got to the point where i don't even realise i am locked. Personally i think it's a combination of better positioning my me :D - i am in better positions before i start a strafe, so i won't suddenly need to move mid strafe. And also more IAS helps so the lock peroid is shorter.
So tbh i wouldn't worry about strafe lock unless you are shooting really slowly :D (i mean non shaeled Xbow slow, not shael'd WF "slow").
The solution to Strafelock is speed...reduce the time you spend Strafing a volley, you spend less time locked.
MS gets no damage increase as you pump points into it, whereas Strafe does. Likewise with GA, which no longer pierces and is a bit slower than Strafe. Compared to GA, Strafe hits multiple times per volley vs single targets and it pierces to boot.
Multi still has it's uses in 1.10, but GA seems less useful. In the end, it all depends on your individual preferences.
