ok i know stoutwood covered this well, but there are some open options i have.

I have at my disposal an SS, +2 Alma Negra, no HoZ, but other shields (not that they are in the running).

Armor-wise I have a 36% ED jewel'd GA, a 1.9K Stone, and a +2 Valor.

For a weapon I was planning on going the Deadly Strike route, but once I actually got a 397% BOTD zerker, i'm going kosher I THINK (i could still try for some DS).

So jewelry I have a few options: Highlords/Ravenfrosts, Angelic ammy/rings, 29 Maras/rings (prolly ravens here too). I'm keeping a Wisp and Cgrip in stash just in case.

As for Helms, right now i'm using a sexy 25% DR vamp gaze (its .08), but with the gore riders I plan on using and my 37/15 verdungos, if I opted for SS over alma negra, i'd have way too much DR. So I have a Shako or I can try and get a CoA (though I dont know how successful i'd be, and I dont own any high runes), but CoA is MORE DR that I dont need lol.

Gloves, Bloodfists or Dracs. I think with BOTD i'll already be at the breakpoint for IAS with my fanatism and Zeal, so I'll prolly go dracs on this one.

So i'm confused. If you could help me out that'd be good, keep in mind PvP. Also socketing suggestions would also be nice.

What stuff did you want to use for sure? Usually I choose a few pieces of key equipment and try to make a build around that.

Setup gives you massive ar:

botd zerker
stone
Angelic jewelry
SS (cham)
Shako (open)
Hsaru boots and belt
choose a glove you want

If you want more deadly:

botd zerker
stone
highlords and dual raven
Gore riders
Guillame's face (you can get this easily, open)
verd
SS (open)
choose a glove you want

More raw damage:

botd zerker
Alma (ber)
War travs
Steelrends
angelic jewelry
Stone
Vamp Gaze (cham)
verd

That's what I came up with in a few minutes, just remember to hit as the fhr breakpoints, somewhere get cbf, get some form of huge AR boost. I personally like deadly strike routes, but I don't use botd at all.

what DO you use if not BOTD? death cleaver or razors edge? and whats cbf? thanks for a good reply

I use an upped eth headstriker (thus the deadly strike route:P). I don't think it's the best weapon out there but I'm a big sword fan and they look really really unique. Cbf is cannot be frozen, always have this. I would wait until someone who has more experience with botd to reply too, because they'd have more knowledge on the damage output of these setups.

there are many options apart from botd like razors and death cleaver, eth bstar, eth upd head striker, stormlash, etc... just look at stouts guide.
CBF is cannot be frozen

gremlins the first set up you listed doesnt work very well ><, i tried it you need at least 15% deadly strike, you cant go on damage and AR alone ><
also how much are steelrends worth and what realm are you on gremlins, you seem pretty good

well i would basically have totrade my BOTD for a DCleaver, so i wanna make sure that one is better. Does anyone have experience with these or anything?

I don't think there's anything too wrong with a botd zerk, I wouldn't trade that unless you got an ethereal DC for it :/ So there you have it, i knew one of those setups must have some problems, as liquid said.

I'm on East, not many mannered zealots here but I still duel in some pubbies. Once in a while you run into a decent zealot, but there are still many out there that use Coh as an armor lol. They all have cta though, and I don't, so it kinda evens the playing field. Decent Steelrends ~50/20 are worth about a 290 over here ... the higher ones go for much more.

I don't know how my zealot stacks up against good ones because I've rarely dueled any over here :( But I know my stats right now:

21k ar
25k def
1.6k - 4.1k damage (all deadly)
1.6k life (98 free stats remaining, 2 inventory slots open)

I should be able to get a bit more when I switch up my gear, and use war travs and coa ed/ias helm instead.

do you hit 4 fps with headstriker cause i heard it was difficult to do or is it easier when uppd?

UndeadBehlial

actually its only 95% deadly :). With 98 free, i'd easily drop 30 more into vitality. Your dmg seems pretty far apart - that is, your low is pretty low. Why war travs over gore riders?

chin - its pretty easy for a zealot to hit 4fps. lvl20 fanatism + zerker axe + zeal you only need 60% Ias to hit the max, and what do you know, BOTD gives 60% IAS, so you hit 4fps. I assume some simple IAS gear would make headstriker not far behind.

aw man too bad youre not on west, here the pubbies are well.... fun? the pubby zealots use enigma/coh lol and exile but they still are not very good, only some here and there that get saved by CTA. anyway, maybe you should move to west, i can hook you up with some items to get started and you can maybe trade your east stuff for west stuff i dont know, but if you are interested PM me man.

To the guy who asked about death cleaver - yes it is very good, i used it for a while, it worked for me but i didnt really feel satisfied, now im using ebotd and well its nice but im looking for a new original set up, havent found one yet.. i suggest that you keep your botd and just build around it, itll work out

Undead's right, headstriker takes some ias gear but nothing overly too difficult. I will drop them into vit as soon as I decide whether or not to change my gear.

I know, my damage has a wide range ... no idea why, headstriker has dmg 137-285 for me right now. All the more reason for why the war travs will help, as with the potential +80ed from the coa and the +95ed from maxing my sacrifice synergy.

When i first started this paladin I was on East ladder .. that's how I managed to get all my gear after the ladder merge - I might start a new paladin on West ladder, but probably not on West NL because I'd never catch up with the rest of you zealots :P I have some stuff on East that I'd NEVER be able to get on West for a while, like the HS, my levi, 199upped ber HOZ, etc. and they are key to my paladin :(

do ED jewels really make that mig of a difference? may eb i just dont realize how they work... the dont take 40% of your ACTUAL dmg (like when you hit C and look what the dmg ur doing) correct? isnt it like the base of the weapon or something?

yes gremlin i myself thought about switching to west because it seems temple fighting is much more popular on west, but at the same time i would never catch up to where i am now, and be able to keep up with everyone.
