View Full Version : People Need to Relax
Okay-- I know it sucks that its monday and we all have to go back to work but:
I was sitting at work bored as usual on a monday morning so i signed onto the forums here, wrote some posts. Came back a little bit later and found that people had responded and they were angry at me.
Aparently whati wrote was either offensive to them, or pissed them off in some fashion. In fact i had not intentionally done either of the two. Granted what i said might have been misread, or misunderstood, but it was never meant even in the slightest manner to have been read that way. Never-the-less i think people are to quick to jump the gun around here! or at least have been lately
It would be to the benefit of the forum, in my opinion if people would give others the benefit of the doubt before they jump down someones throat. [/RANT]
its just somthing i noticed this morning :cheesy:
you talkin about the OTF? Cause i haven't seen the post in question here.
nope, from a couple of the other forums. Just thought this didnt belong in them, since it isnt really about diablo.

I read some of the posts you were referring to and I didn't think you said anything offensive. People are rude here all the time. If you had 9,900 posts instead of 99 I am sure no one would have replied negatively. If anything they would have said: Whoa dude! you are totally awesomecoolsupersweet!

Well it really looked like you were flaming th4518 for no reason, and that would have been unacceptable. Anyways we aren't quick to jump the gun, you are just oversensative.
And Ragnar I disagree fully, I yell at people who flame or are being idiots whether they have 1 post or 1 million.
er...yeah i suppose you might be right there. That, unfortunatly, is a lot of peoples attitudes around here. Owell. Maybe some of us newcomers can change their minds about us youngn's

I read the comments directed towards th4518 and I guess I interpreted them differently, I was confused when he became upset at Sorthax.
And Ragnar I disagree fully, I yell at people who flame or are being idiots whether they have 1 post or 1 million. I think that some people are more balanced at that than others. If someone is full of *deleted*you tell them. Others, well... thats just not the impression I get.
Ragnar,
You are pretty new here so I'm giving you the benifit if a doubt. For future reference, we don't condone bypassing the word filter in these forums. May I suggest you read the forum faq?

Or maybe, just maybe, I'LL STEAL YOUR PANTS!
*steals Sorthax's pants*
For the record, i am not the sensetive one, i stopped the little word battle by apoligizing to th1214 after he gave me some snide remarks about some THXAK@!ie or whatever.
And that was after you so quickly jumped the gun, as you say you do not, and assumed that i was flaming him. Writing me a very sarcastic and insulting post. followed by another from himself.
But thanks for starting this all up again though i really apreciate it.

And it is a fairly natural assumption to make that you are flaming the person you QUOTED in your post. And I know you apologised, that was very mature. I thought that you were just picking on th for no reason, so I jumped on you. Misunderstanding, sheesh.
This thread is bringing to mind 2 other threads. A free cookie to whoever guesses of what I'm thinking.

Personally, I've never put any stock into post count - I'll chew on anybody who says something I find offensive or beligerent (note that an opinion different from mine is not automatically labeled as either - it's the attitude behind the comment that matters most to me). However, it takes a lot to make me angry, especially on an internet forum.
I suppose, on the other hand, I tend to show favoritism towards posters who I've become familiar with and tend to agree with most of the time. A high post count might be the reason I've become familiar with such a person, but it's not the post count itself that makes me like or dislike somebody.

No, i wasnt starting it again. Read my post , im suprised you didnt get it the first time since you have already blamed me for a lack of reading comprehention earlier.
All i was trying to say in my post here was that i think it would be best if, instead of immidiatly responding to someone negativly you make sure you know what they were trying to say.
In other words just clarify things...dont jump to conclusions. And im done. Sorry to have started this again.

Given the nature of online communication, jumping to conclusions is really necessary.
And also I need to get my moneys worth out of my Jump To Conclusions Mat.

Er...i meant do you see what i am saying about jumping to quickly at someones throat.
But i am agreeing with you that a lot of the time it is unavoidable because it is exeedingly hard to tell when someone is being serious/sarcastic/mean/nice etc. Emotion and what not is often lost or misunderstood in writing.

People here really do need to relax. It always seems like at least, when they argue with me, they are pissing in their pants the whole time. It's a damn internet forum. There's no need to go "I PWNZOR JOO NOOB IN THE ARGUEMENT." Or start pissing every time someone disagrees with you. It's the internet. You won the arguement? Ok. You "won." Happy? Stfu noob. :sigh:

Thinking before you post is totally overrated. Reading the thread before replying is totaly overrated. Making sense is totally over rated.
