FA and synergies..is it worth it?

Greetings All
I have a new strafe/bowzon (clvl51..I have been building zons for 3yrs now) I am buidling at the moment and was about to max FA and start on the synergies for it.
A friend said it really only needs one point in it????
Why would you have a skill that can be synergised and only need 1 pt put in it??
I would really appreciate some feedback on this please.

Unless you're going to use this as a utility skill FA should defininently be maxed as long with Cold Arrow to fully power it. For Ice Arrow, it isn't worth the 20 points you pump into it to get an additional 2 second freeze duration, or in Hell 0.5 second Cold duration. One point into Ice Arrow is ALL you need unless you're going to use it as well.

And yes, Frozen Arrow is DEFINENTLY worth the 40 points. It works exceptionnally well with Strafe. Remember to get 75%+ pierce% (not just from the skill).

FA works best as either a 1-point utility skill or a 40-point synergized primary skill. In between, you're not getting the most out of it.

...unless you have really bad gear and the mana costs of FA are killing you..in which case you could start by putting 1 point in FA at first, max the Cold arrow synergy, while hoping for better gear..then max FA. You will have less damage at first, but don't need to gobble a blue after every other shot

On the other hand...FA on a full M'avina zon is just so schweeeeeeeeeeet :)

FzA is a 1-pt. wonder if used only for the 3.3 yd. radius freezing (bosses can't be frozen, only chilled, & even this is affected by their cold resists); remember that you get another 3.3 yd. splash for every pierce (capped at 3 pierces). For more dmg pumping the CA syn is definitely a good idea.

If you want more dmg & more AR, then more pts. in FzA is your answer.
