HI ppl.i have these questions that bother me a long time now.
1)Prefixes and suffixes:I wonder all those charms/rings/amulets that drop.....how they get them? 1 mean is it 1 suffix and 1 prefix per item? but no on the other hand i can see yelllow jewels with lots mods on them....so whats going on?
2) its almost like tha first one....i ve yet to see one ring that is worth more than um...imean is it worth at all to collect blue/yellow amulets/rings? and why i think that blue ones are better? for example 30+ed/15 ias jewel can only be blue and so all the hiiigh mf rings/amulets..so what do u think? thx in advance for clearing up my thoughts^^

For 1: Any "Magical" item (Blue name) can have 1 prefix and 1 suffix. They are generated based on the level of the monster that dropped them (Monster level) which then gives the items it's level...and that item can have a suffix up to it's level, or anything lower (+ or minus a bit). Yellow items with lots of stats are called rares. They randomly take extra preffix'es and suffix'es and add them on, which would be why you could see a rare (Yellow) jewel with 5 modifiers.

Some Blue rings have some value (such as ones with high magical find), and some are just useful for wearing at mid levels. Often rare (yellow) rings with more modifiers will be better, and the same goes with amulets. One of the things that's good with amulets is they can get a suffix that adds +1 to all of a classes skills, or +2 at higher levels, and these amulets are quite valuable. However, a normal magical (blue) ring which justs adds a bit of strength or energy usually isn't worth keeping. Rare rings/and amulets, it really depends on if they have stuff that people want. Things I generally look for in a rare is:
High resists, faster cast (good for casters), mana regen is good, if it's got +1 to skills it's really good, +% to attack rating...not really sure what else.

ok that i knew about amulets..i know that +2 or +3 to skill amulets with some resists and maybe some str or fcr rock...but about rings....even the ones with 10%fcr nd some reists can be compared to soj or bul kathos?...and i ve never heard of a ring with +skill..dooes it exist? anyway u helped me a lot with suffixes and prefixes thx^^.....but why is it that yellow/rare rings/amus CANT be found with high mf on? blue and rare rings/amus have different suffixes or prefixes?

You can find a list of jewel magic affixes here:

http://www.battle.net/diablo2exp/items/magic/jewels.shtml

and for rings and amulets prefixes here:

http://www.battle.net/diablo2exp/items/magic/pre.shtml

and suffixes:

http://www.battle.net/diablo2exp/items/magic/suf.shtml

(Bit confusing since combined with armours and weapons)

You'll notice some affixes are listed in blue and some in yellow. Blue affixes can only spawn on Magic items, yellow can spawn on both Magic and Rare.

The advantage of rare jewels/jewelery over magic is that while they can not get some of the top end mods they can get more mods. (4 affixes on a jewel, up to 6 on a ring/amulet.)

While you are correct in saying you cant get 30+ed/15 IAS on a rare jewel (you cant get IAS at all) you can still get a nice combination of upto 30%ed and some nice elemental damage plus some strength and some max damage. so you could get something like:

30% ed, 1-100 lightning damage, +9 max, +9 strength.

or for a caster:
10% all resists, 12% damage to mana, +9 dex, +9 str

not too shabby.

rare rings dominate magic rings because they can get dual leech which no magic/set/unique rings have.

For example:

Bitter Spiral
Ring
Required Level: 46
Item Version: 1.10 Expansion
Item Level: 82
Fingerprint: 0x5958aca6
Lightning Resist +22%
Poison Resist +28%
+50 poison damage over 3 seconds
4% Life stolen per hit
5% Mana stolen per hit

or:

Storm Loop
Ring
Required Level: 65
Item Version: 1.10 Expansion
Item Level: 88
Fingerprint: 0x9c0d9aa1
+58 to Attack Rating
Poison Resist +29%
Adds 1-4 fire damage
8% Life stolen per hit
4% Mana stolen per hit
10% Better Chance of Getting Magic Items

Whilst you are correct that the highest MF comes on blue rings/amulets there is often more to the game than just MFing! :)

Oh and the rules for magic prefixes/suffixes are 25% chance of both a prefic and a suffix, 25% of only a prefix and 50% of only a suffix.

Well glad it helped - and the leech is great for PvM by the way. ;)
