View Full Version : Charms?? Pitch or not Pitch
Hey guys,
I was wondering if someone could give me a short list of which charms are actually worth something. I know Skill GC's are worth a bunch and 7% mf small charms but after that I am not sure which ones I should sell to merchant or hold on to for trade or other chars??
any help here please

Small ones with 15+ life are good to have if you have extra room... All resistance charms too. And faster run/walk smalls.

Melee characters also like charms with damage such as:
Fine small charms (up to 3 max damage and 20 AR)
Sharp Grand charms (up to 10 max and 75(?) AR)
High Elemental damage small charms (Large charms actually have the best average elemental damage but many people don't like them because of their shape)
100 poison damage Small Charms are also valued and often used as currency.
SC's with 10-11% resistance to one element are useful or 3-5% all resists and GC's get up to 30% to a single resistance and 15% to all resists.
SC's also get up to 17 mana, so 15+ mana is also good.
These are mainly prefixes so if a charm has a good prefix and suffix the nit is even better. Good suffixes are life, faster hit recovery, faster run walk or more damage for melee characters.

i suppose ill start with small charms
i generally keep small charms with the following mods(abilities)
50+ poison damage
cold damage small charms if they have other mods
mf small charms 4% and higher
hit recovery small charms are decent, i prefer to have extra mods though
faster run/walk small charms follow the same rule as hit recovery
resist small charms(all resist) i keep
single element resist i keep if it is 10+ and has another mod
and then of course the fine small charms with 15+ to life
large charms
i dont keep many of these, usually just the 175 poison damage ones
some cold damage ones if the damage isnt to bad
grand charms
basically skills and 15 resists here...cant think of anything else at the moment
good luck

If you have the space in your stash, then you might want to hold on to any Hell difficulty drops to reroll them into something more useful and tradeable. Just by using the HCube transmuting formula (3 perfect gems + magic item = new magic item of the same type), you can often turn a poor drop into something more valuable.
Just in casual gathering of GCs and flawless gems (which I cube to Perfects) I've been able to create a couple of Necro and Pally skillers. It takes a few tries, but it's truly rewarding once you've turned a few nothing items into a profitable trading commodity.
It doesn't take much space or effort and can be rewarding if you have the patience. Plus you might even be able to trade some mid or low level items for some PGems to speed the process and get even more out of your drops.
Just my 2¢ though.
