Ladder or Non-Ladder

My brother and I jsut started playing D2 online a couple of months ago. We only play PvM because monsters don't use hacks. We have been playing non-ladder so far but have been contemplating starting ladder characters. I only play a few times a week so I am not a complete fanatic. I like the cube recipes for ladder and also the new rune words look cool. Bottom line, is there any reason why I should play one or the other?

Personally I can't think of any reason why you should not be playing ladder. Some people don't like the prospect of starting out from scratch without their godly items, but since youre relatively new online anyhow that wont be an issue. Also the possibilities with the upgrade recipies and runewords make it an easy choice for me. :thumbsup:

I think non ladder is good to get a feeling for D2 multiplayer. The structure, the characters and skills, everything. Also you may get free items easier :) I think ladder is for more experienced players. I may be harder starting out, since you have nothing at first, and the monsters are harder in nightmare and hell. I just started my first char in the new ladder season, hoping I get some starter items soon from friends, then I will start out for real :)

But as I said, if you feel a bit experienced and have a good build then I would recommend ladder.

Thanks for the advise. I am gonna start my first ladder char. I guess I will just be like everyone else and start a sorc. That way I can mf for other chars. Thanks again!

Can someone please enlighten me ALso i was thinking aboout doign ladder like my friends do. Yet one question about it that kinda botherd me if i do ladder or not ladder can i still join an game. Meaning if i was ladder can i join a non ladder persons game?

to start a new thread, go to the list of threads, and there should be a button on the right directly before the list starts that says "new topic" or "new thread" or something like that. that should work :) edit: kinda like how the "post reply" button is in this thread.

Ladder charecters can not join nonladder games, and visa versa.
