I was in a game leveling my paladin and some guy was like follow me I have maphack, so I asked him why he had to use hacks and he got all mad. Then I told him I was reporting him (not that bnet gives a **** about a confession in a screen shot) and EVERYONE gets pissed at me and they all start saying **** like HOW ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO FIND MEPH IF YOU DON'T HAVE MAPHACK! some people EVEN thought that maphack wasn't illegal! They were saying it was an addon to the game. After I had throughly pissed them off they reformed a party without me to bad I had a friend in their and I got invited anyway.

You can't control the way other people behave or play. Making a big deal out of someone using MH just seems like you're not accepting reality to me. Reality is that 90%+ of battle.net is using hacks of some sort, and you won't last the day if you make a big fuss everytime you see it. Although ignorance and incompetance on their part is frusrtating, you've just got to accept that not everyone is at your level. Maybe you shouldn't make such a big deal over an online game where most of the experience consists of interacting with different people and getting along with some of them to make it enjoyable... sort of like life. I may not do drugs or like them for that matter, but that doesn't make me run into every crack house in town and.... you get the idea ;)

Asking questions can be just as insulting as an actual insult. When you ask why he used it, you implied that it wasn't needed or that there is a better way(which, of course, is true). When someone asks you why you use a certain piece of gear, you know they think they know something better. This is annoying. Same thing in this situation. Also, you knew exactly why he used maphack so there was no reason for that question other than to insult.
Just yesterday I had another mf sorc ask me why I had a lidless and wizspike on. I was annoyed at this because he assumed I had no clue what I was doing mfing(I have gull/rhyme on switch).
Personaly, I don't judge people based on what hacks they use(although most often hacks=jerk). I have met VERY nice and generous people who use mh. I have also met total ******* who don't use any.
Here is an interesting question. If you are in a party with someone using mh and you follow them, are you using mh as well? If you gain the same benefits they do, doesn't that make you just as much a cheater? On the other hand, if you don't follow them, you will be left behind. What do you do? Play single player with no people to share your finds/builds with?
Considering it is JUST A GAME, and not life and death, I don't really care if someone uses mh. They aren't hurting me so I don't give a crap. Other hacks are annoying, but in the end, its up to you to duel/play with those people.

People will tell you it does hurt you, with the economy and the 1337 graphs they have to prove it. The only way to keep yourself from ever getting annoyed on bnet is squelch everyone and hold intelligent conversations w/ your mercenary/valk.

could you imagine a diablo full of ppl that use crap equipment? how not fun that would be. That would be the ultamite imbalance if only a few had certain items. We all exploit some way or the other. Eth bug anyone?
I mean really, if u ever traded things in TC's for runes most likely you contribute to the economy for the way things are. If no one buys, hackers wouldnt need to dupe. Can you honestly tell me getting runes to make enigma, hoto, cta doesnt make you happy?

Of course I asked him to insult him. I don't like people who use maphack and most of all bots. The game wouldn't be unbalanced at all, check out ladder. Lots of people DO bot but there are a lot who don't too and they have fine gear.
This looks like another "oh damn I have to convince everyone I don't use hacks"-thread, why even create it?

I like MH and use it all the time because blindly teleing around some ****ty cave with outdated graphics and monsters i've killed 1000 times gets real old real fast.

I mean let them hack hes got a point, have you SEEN the size of durance 2... you could spend an hour down their! Considering the amount of hell meph runs ive done back in the day, I personally dont wanna spend 1 minute down their. This game is old and im sure most of us have beat it 10000's of times I like it for the people and challenge of dueling and finding good gear, enjoy your time on and dont impose your will onto other who CLEARLY dont care and wont change if they did

Come on now, do you own 1 enigma/hoto/cta or even traded items for runes? if you do and you didn't find the runes yourself, you my friend are also contributing to the economy.

I didnt say i was anti teleport, what i am saying is that not everyone is supposed to have all the godly items int he game, they are so good because they are supposed to be scarce.

i cant wait until the botters and dupers get started, without them, then i cant have my enigma or my beast or my coh or my cta
the people who care about botters/dupers are the ones who dont have anything good, then they see everyone else with enigma etc. and get pissed off.
if the were no hacks of any kind, i would be pissed off because some people play 10-14 hours a day and then they end up having all the good stuff
i want some good runewords and i dont want to put too much effort into it, but maybe thats just me
often many of us complain about botters/dupers, but theyre the ones who create the market of d2. without bots to run meph/pindle, there would be less elite uniques out there (or theyd just be duped). also, they also lower the prices of items. i doubt 2 o/s CoAs/arachind meshes/steelrends would be as cheap as they are if bots didnt find so many per day. if using duped items is so bad to you, dont use them. simple as that. let others use what they want.
oh, and honestly i couldnt care less about maphack. im not running around maggot lair/durance/frozen river for hours on end. so call me a newb hacker, ill be the newb hacker not lost in the arcane sanc for half the day. :lol:

take rushing for example, unless you manually play through all acts and quests with every single one of your characters, then you have taken advantage of either maphack, or someone with maphack.
I would not like to sit around all day waiting for someone to find durance 3, when either I, or someone else can find it in a couple of seconds for my rush. Or how about those tele-baals we all like? Do you think someone is seriously willing to teleport around through all of WS 2 and 3 facing black souls, ob knights and other meanies? If so, I don't think you'll ever reach 99 that way.

I agree with Exxa, at one point i even had maphack, but i found that simply using it to play through was boring, i might have used it to find durnace lvl 3, but again, i didn't want to put my account into jeopardy for it so i got rid of it.
I couldn't care less about people finding they're way around with map hack, big deal you just saved yourself a few minutes or even hours depending on how much you use maphhack.
The only thing that pisses me off about maphack is when people snoop through my items just to find out what im using, and perhaps prepare for it before a duel.

In my opinion u should let people go about using maphack and dont talk to them about it unless u believe that blizzard/bnet isnt going to do one thing to stop it, in which case why even bother telling on people. Its not really a huge deal to me however id never use it because its not a legitiment factor of the game. As for the people who say "how u find meph w/o maphack"-thats a load of garbage. After doing so many manual mephy runz myself i found that there is actually a spawning system (from where durance lvl 2 wp is) which u can use to estimate where durance 3 will be. (its based on how the map is layed out when u enter durance 2)I basically know where durance of hate 3 is and if its not in that area then i know where it cant be. Its about 80 percent accurate too although hell is abit different then normal and nightmare. It works great for me i do some incredibly quick meph runz no maph hack required.

If Blizzard "SERIOUSLY" cared about maphacking, they would have put a stop to it. However, since around 9/10 people are mhing, they would be killing their own business which they DO NOT want to do. Blizzard is just to stupid to stop it what about the massive ban of people on 09? Clearly blizzard does want to stop it. Not everyone wants d2 to end up like d1 where clicking on someone kills them.
How is MH, Botting, and AA, going to make it so that there's no point in playing like D1? They can all be overcome, and they're useful to say the least. Anyways, for WorldStone 2 and 3, you just follow the walls ither left or right, and you get to the exits quick enough. been doing that w/o MH forever.

You think that d1 was pretty hack free then BAM all of a sudden everyone clicks on everyone else and they die? No it just slowly degraded until bnet stopped caring.

Thankyou i agree, i don't use bots to do mf runs but i do got mh, do u honestly want to spend 2 hrs trying to mf hell meph when u can find him in under 2 min? Mh doesn't hurt anything and if ppl want to use bots to mf for stuff thats their bizz, in my opinion thats no fun but wtf, its there life and acct.

Who cares if other people use maphack. I personally don't use it and don't consider myself handicapped that much. MF'ing meph can be done in about 30-40 seconds without maphack, and teleing worldstone is ridiculously easy: 10-20 seconds max. But hey, if other people want to use it, that's their choice and who am I, or you for that matter, to say otherwise. If you really want to do something about it, apply for a job at Blizzard.
