Can someone enlighten me on what's wrong with a pure fury WW?
All the builds seem to suggest fireclaws or rabies....
Thx!
You need to give us more information about your druid, gear, stats, lvl, pvp or pvm, what difficulty he is in etc. We cant help your wolf if we dont know this information.

Fury werewolfs, apart from a hard time against physical immunes, are really good, given the right equipment. In PvP they lack any sort of ranged attack though, so that makes them not insanely good, but they're able to compete.

Well, I haven't completed my WW yet.
I've been wanting to just make a pure fury, go all out physical damage, but I wanted to make sure they could compete with a rabies or fireclaws build before I went thru the trouble.
I'm assuming that rabies and fireclaws also have the disadvantage of not having a ranged attack....

In PvM a well-outfitted fury werewolf beats fire claw/rabies. Though you need some kind of way to deal with PI's. Reapers toll merc is one option, but you still have at least 90 resist left after it's casted which is a lot to take away. I'd recommend reapers anyway btw, the decrep will let you do 500% more dmg to black souls for example.
Other options is getting rabies too, +carrion wind, or getting IK maul (pvm) or a lot of elemental damage charms. Well basically a huge source of elemental damage.

Depends where you're dueling. They're great in pubbies where people aren't so hot at teleporting, but vs. anyone who teleports really well and has a long range attack, you'd be in quite a bit of trouble.
I have an 84 level WW, I can solo Hell easily. I'm using max Wolf/Lycan/Feral/Fury, rest in HoW, main weapon Tomb Reaver 3 shaels (one ed/ias is better). Even with phys immunes, just have a merc with Toll's Reaper, or on switch, you can also use Azurewrath for switch and Tiamut's shield. I have near max resist, and over 20k ar.PvP in pubs, I can take out most melee duelers, even in they have botd's. Of course fighting casters, you win if they slip up, which is most of the time in pubs.

To deZ,
Instead of a shael in that last socket on your tomb reaver you should've put an ed jewel or something else because 2 shaels already brings you to a 6/4 fury.
As for charms for a pure fury, I think max/ar/life is the way to go.

Tomb Reaver is a 10 speed, it has 60 ias default, so that's 50, shael - 70, shael - 90, 90 doesn't hit 6/4, 6/4 according to the Dragoon's site is 100ias, so an ed/ias jewel for slot 3 is the best. Am i looking at this wrong?

You're a little off.
It needs 100% WIAS to hit 6/4.
60% already on it + 2 shaels = 100%
The base weapon speed is already factored in, if it were base speed 0 it would only need 90% WIAS.
Man...I never realized the table on Dragoon's is WIAS not combined, I've been basing speeds wrong for over a year. Thanks for clearing that up.

a good fury destroys all rabies/fireclaw builds. and fury is pure melee...real melee. imo fireclaw and rabies wolves are elemental. yeah they swing a melee attack but its not melee in the traditional physical melee. all you need vs fireclaw and rabies is: resistances....psn length reduce....they are not hard to counter at all. although one absorb is allowed for legit duels all you need to kill basically any fireclaw (if you are good) is a nokozan relic ammy. boost your fire res to 85 with it. also hot spurts can take care of a fireclaw.
fury druids rely on two things: speed and attack rating. damage is key too but you will realize that speed and attack rating are the fury wolf's strengths.
go for 4 fpa or at least 5 fpa. this means 95 speed weapon for 4fpa one hand or 60 wsm for 5fpa. example: phase blade with -30 speed needs 65 ias.
mythical sword with 0 speed needs 95 ias.
the best and cheapest weapon for a fury wolf is a griz caddy hands down.
socket it with 3 ed ias jewels and a Lo or Shael. Why shael? 6/4 fury (first swing is faster than a 7/4 fury)
really sexy and good weapon are sadly very expensive and hard to come by but not impossible. (ccrypticoq, cconqoq, cmsoq, cfkoq, fcsoq, catagoq, cpboq) remember they all need 95 speed for 4fpa.
for 5fpa eth botd zerk or warspike are your best options (these weapons are the easy way out....)
hope this helps

Poison length reduction doesn't work on rabies.
I'm not to big on PvP melee with wolves (unless there is barb under that fur  ), but for PvM, I think the fury druid owns all.
My zealot, with eth BotD Zerk and full out offensive did 5K or so tops. Not bad, but when I got my wolf and could use an eth BotD GP, whew. almost 9K or more. With good speed, loads of life, and AR enough to hit anything (paladin had like 6~8K, druid has 14K+), I find the Fury Wolf hard to beat.
If you want to be stylish in PvM, here are some good 2H choices:
Eth BotD Great Poleaxe
Eth BotD Giant Thresher (less dmg than pole, but scythe look  )
Eth BotD Archon Staff (Rare, +500 to Style points)
Eth BotD Glorious Axe (still rare, still cool, but only +350 style in my books)
Eth //Reg Upgraded Ribcracker (Zod or Shael)
Tomb Reaver (as stated, at least 2 sockets for 2 Shaels)
IK Maul (2 shaels I think... )
Who needs a shield :strong:

Thx for the input everyone.
I just got my hands on an eth Tomb Reaver, and just need to find stuff to put into it.
My barb already has a Ebotd GP, never thought of using that, but I'm guessing the Tomb is better.
Any suggestions on an ideal setup to get good AR without using Angelics?
Thx
ravens and a combo of ar/life and max/ar/life and ss charms
