Perming mule chars...any particular method?

With the new ladder out and my 88 MF sorc making lots of runs, i've had to create a lot of mules. The whole "expires in 10 days" thing is annoying, and I have to log on with each mule every so often to reset the counter. Is there any other way to perm mules short of playing with them for two hours? I'd like to just log on with them and have them sit in a game while I do something else, but they get kicked from b.net for lack of activity.

Do you have to be in a game? Just going to a channel resets the 10 day timer so shouldn't sitting in a channel for 2 hours work? I always log on at least every 10 days and since i am always trading and moving stuff they get permed after about a month anyway.

If u have a friend to help... then follow these few steps
1) Have friend take wp to outer cloister, make sure there are no monsters around, and give u a tp.
2) Walk down to the wall and click on the door.
3) Watch your character train on the OuterCloister Treadmill (tm)

One I use........ is to assign ID (have to have a scroll) to the right click then either tape down or put something on the right mouse button then leave it for 2 hrs.

You now have a mule doing a funky dance.

Have a friend who wont charge you rush each of your mules through hell. I don't know anyone who can't use the runes or the socket quests gained this way.

Thats a good point. It lets you get the benefiets of a hell character without the craip of having to deal with them. Quick question though, are there char lvl requirements for certain parts of the game? I know ancients and arcane each have lvl requirements. Wouldn't trying to lvl ur mule to the required lvl not help milady at all?

There's a level requirement for getting certain quests (Malus, Ancients), but you can still go up to the arreat summit and through the door to the worldstone keep if it's open.

i don't think you can go through the door or take wp or tps to wsk if u havn't done ancients. at least i'v never been able to. I heard though that if sum1 in your party sees baal die, you get quest even if ur in town and havn't done ancients yet. is this true?

If you are partied with someone that hasn't gotten the baal quest, and they kill baal while you sit in town, you get the baal quest. This is why you sometimes see such low level characters in hell. I've done this many times and I'm sure it works.

I usually just keep old characters that I've made for mules... lolz. But the treadmill thing is hilarious.

i agree just keep the chars u screwed up on or ur 1.09 chars if u still hav them. i use my old accnt 4 mules and their all lvl 75+ screw-ups.
or just keep ur char in channel for 2 hours once evry 3 months

Yeah, in season one I accumulated 8 clvl 60+ characters that were 1.10 experiments and failed builds. I kept that account and proceeded to creat a new account consisting of 6 clvl 70+ characters, all becoming mules after I got tired of them. 14 Permed Hell mules? Can't get any better than that.

or... just enter a game before you go to bed and hopefully no1 will check on ur comp lol.
