View Full Version : Shadow Warrior or Shadow Master?
I'm almost level 18 and want to know which is better, the warrior or master?
My thoughts are:
Warrior:
Cheaper mana cost
More control on what spells shw uses
Master:
More life
Can use any spell
Which is the best to use? My assassin is mainly focusing on traps with a few martial arts. Thanks guys.

IMO SM is best !
SM has more resistance, a FAR better equipement, can use all skill ...

If u are a elemantalist ma. I find sw to be more effective, but u have to have her cast fade to equal the survivability of sm. For trappers and kickers sm is a ton better then sw.
Sm also is a lot easier to use, if u want a cast and forget minion sm is for u, but if u want COMPLETE control over what skills ur warrior uses sw is useful, but once again only for elementalist martial artists. Ur best bet is since its a pre-req for master anyways use warrior and toy around, and then when u get to lvl 30 get master and play around with her some. find out which suits u best.

Actually Shadow master does not have any more life than Shadow warrior.
They have exacly the same amount.
I believe in 1.09 the warrior was weaker but it seems Blizzard decided to give her a bit more life in this patch.

I agree with Bone Scorpion. SW is best for MA's. SM is for lazy people that don't want to think about it.
But almost anyone can use SW if they want to. I fell in love with SW's ability to cast tons of MB's. She also will cast CoS for you if you want her to. With very little practice you can get good. You also need to reconfigure your attack strategy to maximize putting thiings on the left mouse button alllowing you to leave MB on the Right Mouse click.
The more I played with her the more I realized that she will use AI and Aura skills prior to combat. So you can learn to take advantage of this in the AI. But its very difficult to make her attack or intelligently use charges of any type--that's expecting too much. But she is very good for casting MB, and I find that with that on most of the time the SW won't die, especially with FADE activated.
My question with warrior is that will she only use the two skills that you are currently using? So to a degree I can get her to cast whatever I want? Like prior to a duel keep fade on and she will cast it on herself and then during the duel she will use the skills I am using?
I prefer SM in almost all cases - the resists were the deciding factor for me. The only exception is when I want Cloak of Shadows to be spammed.
ik_iron, Yes, you can do that with the SW, but the Master will pre-buff on her own, going between fade and bos. Which one she keeps is up to you. She will stop casting spells once she has to follow you or has a target, whichever comes first.
Well an interesting thing about SM is that she will use the skills you most heavily invested in skill point-wise in your skill-tree, most often.

I never heard such a thing. Plz enlighten me where this tidbit of info came from.
Cold hard testing and experience, according to my friend its been known since last December. You can also check out the Mageslaer thread for more information and discussion. http://www.rpgforums.net/showthread.php?t=224682
If you are good with hotkeys and like control, SW is the way. I usually max SW, but for my current Azn, i decided to max all Charge ups and go shadowless. I think merc + CoS is enough for crowd control

actually SM doesnt have much better equip, SM cannot use leech and she only gets +skills 1/7 (if they even work).
SM and SW have very similar equip as both can get cruel claws and godly (high % defense armour).
if ur a trapp do not get SW, her traps will overwrite urs so this is how i see it..;
SM = trappers
SW = meleers
