Lost a HoZ

I have a feeling how it happened, but didn't realize the implications when I exited the game. :(

Here's the story... I go into a Baal run game, and die. I go back to pick up my body, and I die again. Now I'm not sure if I did manage to click on my body again, but I decided to quit after my second death. I have a feeling I did click on it because when I created a new game, I had all my original items back on except HoZ.

The problem is when I die, my strength is not great enough to put on HoZ, so I have to switch my amulet to meet HoZ's strength requirement. So when I died a second time, I think I managed to click on my body before dieing, but didn't pick up HoZ. Thus, after my second death, the body that died a second time took precedence, and my HoZ was still on the body that died first. When I exited the game, I lost my HoZ, but kept all the other items.

Anyways, I think I'm going to quit D2 now. :(

Sorry about your loss. But I have to ask, why wouldn't you have at least 89 strength? It's not that much and it's all that's needed to equip the HoZ.

I guess hindsight is 20/20 eh?

If you have good enough gear waiting for you for you to do something as stupid as strength stacking, then you should learn to stand in the corner and hide rather than dieing. If this is not the case, well, learn your lesson and go mf another HOZ :thumbsup:

Str stacking isn't stupid. I do it with my liberator. He's still at base str with everything else in dex and vit. Godly health (for a pally that is) and still great charge damage.

It is stupid, or at least thats how you feel when you die, are unable to equip an item, and then lose it. I prefer haveing ~200 life less ( with BO on ) and being assured that all my items are going right back where they go, and I dont have the hassles of losing the items.

Sorry to hear that you lost a HoZ but I agree with BlackNight, better have a bit less life and not have to worry about picking up your body when you die.
Don't stay on such a bad finish, continue playing Diablo, who knows maybe while mf'ing, u might find another HoZ even they are so hard to find.

Well, you'd rather have the 200 less life. i'll do anything to increase my chances of winning by .02% and risk losing something extremely valueable

Enjoy your style, I will enjoy the knowing of all my items being safe, and that 200 life? Its not such a big loss, I can make it up with some small charms.

Funny thing is I was considering putting some more points into Strength (have 25-30 stat poitns free) because it was becoming a hassle to click on my body, then switch some items to wear HoZ.

Anyways, I'm probably going to try to trade for a HoZ, although I liked mine at 182 ED (was originally UnIDed). :( I probably won't play much until I find a HoZ again though.

Strength stacking is no problem if you follow one simple rule.

Ask yourself the question:
"Am I 100% sure I can retrieve my body without dying?"

If the answer is yes then go and get your body.
If the answer is no then exit the game and create a new one.

It is as simple as that :D

Ah, thats a dumb reason to quit Diablo. I lost a HoZ also. I had met some guy on b.net and we played alot for a few months and then I started playing ladder more so I lent him a bunch of my gear. HoZ, Saracen's, and a bunch of other stuff. Then he just disappeared so I assume he made another account and just kept the items. But whatever, its just a game. Have fun with what you have.

I lost an SS yesterday, but the circumstances were a bit different.

I was in a public dueling game, and someone killed me (I'm an amazon). When I went to get my body, I couldn't pick it up for some reason. I thought it was lag, so I walked around a bit, but I still couldn't pick it up. In frustration, I left the game, to create a new one. I got my body when I spawned, but there was no SS. Note that I didn't get killed a second time.

I use a bow, and have Titans and an SS on switch. The Titans provide me with the Str needed to equip the SS, so normally, whenever I die, I have to click on my body to pick up all the items but the SS, press 'W' to switch to my Titans, and then click on my body again to pick up the SS.

I don't know why I lost the SS though, and why I couldn't pick up my body at all in the first place.

Ah well, it wasn't much of a loss; I got an SS with an ED/-15%req jewel now, and it can stay there even without the Titans, so I'm hoping this will never happen again.

Back in 09 i lost an eth valor for a stupid reason, I clicked it out of my cube then i got disconnected while still holding it then when i entered another game the next day i still had the valor in my "hands" and i forgot about it...so when i clicked to move my valor droped and this kid picked it up...a bit more stupid of a way of getting your itemz gone.... :yep:

Lol back in .09, I wanted to get a Windforce so when a zon entered my trade game, she showed me her WF and I offered some items that she didn't like but just for jokes i pressed the check mark and guess what lol the other zon pressed the wrong button and traded. Lol I gave it back and the zon was so thankfull that she gave me and eaglehorn instead.
