Time for an amazonecro

Hey guys,

I returned to the necro forum, and to the chararcter I think I know at least better than the other chars. Had some fun with assasins and amazones, both hybrid builds all the times since I hate doing the same thing all over.

I'm in ladder2 now, did a tesladin (didn't work for me) some hybrid amazons (fun but I really hate having to repair my javelin all the time) and a dtalon/trap assasin (that one is great but I played it too often already).

So I had to build a necro again. Problem was I played about every necro there is. Didn't know any better thing to do though.

I sent my highest char out to get some rare necro stuff. She found some good rares but also a Demon Machine. Then it came to me. Wasn't this the ultimate necro bow?

It had something to do with crushing blow and so, but I'm pretty sure that won't work with the exploding arrows in 1.10. I looked around for a guide but I couldn't find it. Anyone has played a bow necro recently?

My idea is an incredible amount of minions and my neccy using this bow, not in need of any AR since whis bow fires Exploding arrows.

Any suggestions? Thanks...

I've played the bownecro quite a bit in 1.09, I've yet to try it in 1.10. Fearox would probably someone to contact as I believe he is writing a guide for the bow necro.

My favorite weapon was a buriza (good damage, great with a might merc), and I'd like to try another buriza wielding necro for 1.10, this time with an upgraded buriza *cackles* and skellies. The pdagger bug is always there for insane AR bonus if you want to go down that path don't forget.

I can't recall exactly but I dont' think the exploding arrows from demon machine "always hit" anymore for some reason.

afaik,
the 'arrow' doesn't hit, but the splash damage on the explosion does.

Well just someone gave me a hellrack for my tarnhelm, so I'm not afraid of doing too little damage anymore :lol:

Too bad it's level 76 and 163 str or something. I could add two hel's to lower the str but I might be wasting it. It seems to me this thing is worth something but the guy that wanted the tarnhelm probably thought different.

I could also shael-shael it ofcourse. But I have time, my necro is level 4 at the moment :)

What is more if you have + All Skills (i.e. shako, Lore, mara or soj) you can add to +Oskills. It is a fairly low damage bow unfortunately, but ITD and Guided Arrow solve the AR problem most necros have with a bow or xbow.

A Bow armed necro won't be doing much damage compared to a real Bowazon with her critical strike and very high dexterity (mine on old ladder had 410 dex) but of course you get a nice bunch of minions and curses to help.

I think I will try to get some Crushing Blow, I don't need much damage at all then and the skeletons will get the kill. I think I can get about 200 dex, since I don't need any other stat except vitality.

demon machine doesn't have enough damage, or attack speed, in my oppinion. tested it with a freezing arrow/strafe bowazon.. even a skystrike with a shael might be better.. and crushing blow with an edge bow with 50% faster attack speed :thumbsup:

I miss my playing 1.09 Bow Nec. He was so great in cows.

Now he's just a level 87 mule. :rant:


If I ever come across a cheap Widowmaker, I may try it out on him. It would be pretty nice with Skeletons, but he has max Iron Golem. :cheesy:

I'm going to try either my hellrack with an eth and a hel in it or a widowmaker if I can get that thing. I'm assuming that the poisondagger 'bug' is no longer available.

I know that Mantis tested it with melee attacks. The results of his testing leaned towards proving that it does still work. I don't think he tested it with ranged attacks though... :scratch:

No, I haven't tested it with ranged weapons. But you could easily replicate the test.

With a bow Necro I wouldn't recommend trying to achieve the highest damage but to acheive a high attack speed.
