Hi everyone !

I made my first 1.10 sorc. Well its the same build i have been using for years of solo play / 2 players game. But now here come the patch 1.10 and the new synergy thing.

Anyway that how she looks like ...

Cold Skills

FO (20)
CM (around 15)
+Prerequisite

Fire Skills

FW (20)
FM(around 15)
Warmth (1)
+Prerequisite

Lightening Skills

Teleport (1)
Static field (20) ok maybe too much !!!!
+Prerequisite

At lvl 99 (with 110 points both CM and FM will be maxed)

Do you think that 20 points in static is a big mistake ? Because I like the combo FO/static, specially for large band of monster (Frozen thundra and act 1 come in mind). And because the damage of FO and FW is not high I think its really necessary to be able to cut the HP of monsters in half. Also, it come handy in 8 players hell baal run ... i mean being able to static all the monster from a safe distance.

So when I play I FO and static like hell, and against cold immune i just switch to FW. I found this forum a few days ago and i think I am the only one who (is dumb enought to) play like this. Bah ... I am the only one who enjoy the 22 range yard of my lvl 30 static field.

Good or bad build ? And please why ...

One thing to note is that leveling past 85 in 1.10 is tedious and slow. Count on not seeing your sorc reach the 90's for a long long time. That cuts the number of realistically available points for your build down to around 95 give or take a few. This is what you should plan around because this is what you'll be playing with for a good chunk of your sorc's lifespan.

Other than that, I don't know how effective this build will be in Hell. I have a hunch that it will kill just as fast as a meteorb sorc since it need to do only half as much damage with the orb/firewall. Give it a shot and let us know!

Your build lokos just fine. FO/FW has been played by quite a few people and itworks nicely 8)

20 Static Field is maybe a bit to much in points, but since you wont have that many points (since youwillpossibly not get to lvl99) that will not concern you too much.

You can put points in Static Field when you have points left. The range will just grow very far with your possibly added +skills.

Usually Sorceresses will use a 1pt Static Field with +skills but more cant really hurt when you dont have any other place in your build to put those pts.

I'd say go for it and have fun :thumbsup:

Howdy,

I agree with both of the above: It will remove about 20 points from other skills which can otherwise be used as synergies.

But also, static is (IMO) a hugely powerful skill. Ive thought a few times of a build similar to yours, but never got around to it.

I think she'd be effective. As a party player, she'd be very strong (no other character/skill can reduce ALL visible monsters by 50% as quickly as this).

Out of interest, with skill level 20, what range is that? Is that beyond the edge of the screen?

At the end of it, this is a game, and if you enjoy playing her, then go for it.

And of course, let us know how she pans out!

Ahhh... the good ol' FO/FW/Static combo... effective for sometime, and it doesn't seem like it will drop in effectiveness anytime soon. As far as maxing it out... who knows? More range is always good... but I would save maxing the skill out for you last remaining points - take care of your main skills, which would even include the masteries... as you've already seem like u will do.

IMO... Do it! Seems fun, useful, and effective.

OMG ppl so funny to use ... LOL ! So many ppl just dont understand why static is maxed.

As you may expect from a build like this, static is your main attack skill ! I know its sound funny, because the attack spell are FO and FW, but I fear more the light immune that fire or cold immune. FCR is (as for every sorc build) really important and you should aim for the 106 %.

The more players there is in a game the stronger you are, but in a 8 players game FO and FW are not strong enough to kill and I found myself only using static for baal runs (thank to all those Meteor and Blizz sorcs ou there). You will all agree that 1/2 HP monsters are easyer to kill than full HP monsters so I think I am usefull in baal run.

For questing (playing this great game) she is just fine.

Feedback from your post:

1) I agree with you that I will unlikly reach lvl 99, but if I had those 110 skill points every skill would be maxed out (20 FW, 20 FM, 20 FO, 20 CM, 20 static, 1 tele, 1 Warmth +Prerequisite = 110).

2) Killing speed is faster than a Metorb when using FO but slower when when using FW but not that much. I think it's just harder to aim with FW ... targets have to stand still to take the full damage of FW. Oh and btw as i expected she is a killing machine for the Fallen (little demon act 1) even in 8 players game.

3) Lvl 20 static, range is 16 yard I think this is not yet the edge (upper left corner) of the screen. But now I have +5 to skill so my range is 19.3 yards and I can see that monsters at the edge of the screen are in range.

4) Good to know that some ppl are playing with this kind of build. Maybe you are right ... put 10 point in static then max FO, FW, FM and CM ... if a reach higher lvl then max static.

I was thinking about using meteor instead of FW. 20 meteor and 20 Fire ball 1 in FM. It is more powerful than 20 meteor, 1 Fire ball, 20 FM with +10 to skill (seen in the tri elementalist guide, sry dont remember which one).

I came across a big problem with this build today while doing the ancients. This build rely on two element so any light and fire (or cold) immune will give you big problem. Specialy when you are still at low lvl. I mean when building this sorc I first maxed static and FW + some in FM, then during nm maxed FO not both at the same time (for killing power). Mostly I fear light immune (so much harder to kill) and fire/cold immune (connot be kill). Also a good tank (merc act 2 and or barb friend) is not a bad idea because you need it to use FW efficiently.

Anyone wants to give this build a try ?

Out of the post: Is there a limite for faster walk/run speed and does it works like fcr. I mean the 63-106-200 have to be reached or it is useless.

Also is there any good guide for party building. Like 1 fire sorc, 1 cold sorc, 1 pally with lower resis aura, 1 barb with BO, 1 light trap assassin. Something like this.
