I play D2X on my Powerbook G4, running OSX, and have for years. Everything works beautifully, except that I have never been able to program my hotkeys to work. Any fellow Mac users out there who have theirs working? Help would be much appreciated--I've generally survived fine into the 90s without hotkeys, but it would be nice not to have to bring up the skill menu to change spells on my sorc or switch between curses on my necro.

Not sure if the fact that I'm on a laptop has anything to do with it, but remember that the F1-F12 keys are the number keys, you just have to hold down Fn to use them. Anyway, insight would be really helpful.

A quick google revealed that many mac powerbook users suffer this issue, however, there is an easy and very wise solution to this: go into your diablo II options in game, and assign the hotkeys to a different set of keys :)

Here's the problem: I can reassign things like the character menu, skill tree, etc., but I have no luck with the skill assignments. I've tried putting them on just about every key on my keyboard to see if anything works, and haven't had any luck. In any case, its not a huge deal. I've survived two years without hotkeys already--I just try to use weapon switch to its full capacity.

no the thing is, FIRST you have to go into the Diablo II options and assign different KEYS to be labelled as "hotkeys" and only THEN can you assign them to skills in the ingame popup menus :)
