How does a huntermentalist work?

20 Grizzly
20 HoW

with elemental skills? Which ones and how well do they work?

Volcano & Fissure make for a good combination for minimal skill point investment.

If you can access the Strategy Compendium (http://strategy.diabloii.net/) (which I can't right now, or I'd give you direct links) then you can check out the 1.10 fire/summons guide which should help with the skills balance, and you can also have a gander back to FenrisWulf's 1.09 Hunter guide, which though not up-to-date, is still a damned good read on the topic

The way I am making my 1.1 huntermentalist is a little different then in 1.09. This time around I am maxing bear and HoW on the summons side and volcano and fissure on the elemental side. So far at lvl 65 he is in act 1 hell and me, my merc and bear are mowing things down with ease.

beo, no ravens or creepers?
well the 1 point into raven which is now like lvl 16 with all my + skill which is good enough for me....as of now no vine. not sure if this will change but for now this set up is working.

Also in the end I will have a lvl 17 raven
+2 from silence bow
+2 from jalal
+2 if I use mara
+1 from kathos ring
+8 from summon charms
+1 from anni
so +16 to summons

no bad

The plain ones are not very expensive the ones with life can be I have 4 with 33 or more life and the rest are in the 20s....what realm are you on...I play east non-ladder and might have a few plain summon charms for you.
