Just today i was hacked. I was in a baalrun game and a new joiner came. This isn't strange, but then all of the items i had equipped just popped off of my char and he picked them up. WTF happened?! How can i avoid being hacked like this again?! Have anyone else out there been hacked? Any advice would be great.

They just popped off or did you do something? I don't think anyone can make them just pop off without you downloading something. Are you sure you didn't like lag and click furiously while you were lagging or download a program from a website that would "give you two free sojs" or "dupe your items" or something?

Yeah, uh, do not ever download stuff. Even if it is high quality porn, a maphack, or a dupe program. You will get trojaned.

I didn't download anything. He just came to the game, and popped my stuff. I didn't take them off, and i didn't download, and I'm just as confused as you are of how the hell it happened. How did he hack it? Did he somehow get into my commands to make me drop it? WHAT HAPPENED?!?! MOST IMPORTANTLY, I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO STOP IT FROM HAPPENING AGAIN!

It may not be that you downloaded anything, it may be that there is some sort of crazy new hack that masks a set of commands that forces your character to drop the items?

Thats impossible... Unless you are a very skilled programmer, I.e IBM or Microsoft, you cannot do this. In order to do this, you would have to packet that the character is in your control, send thousands of false packets, that canceled his out, and gave you control + etc. But the anti-hack for the bnet servers would catch this before it could be completed, and the person would be banned, and the "hack" would fail. My guess is either that his "friend" sent him something bugged, He uses map hack, or he had a hex on him still, and bnets super rust storm hit him
Also, were you playing on a closed realm, or in open/sp where hacks run rampant. Sounds fishy to me from what the original poster says.

I have not downloaded anything for DII. I have never used map hack, or made any dupes.
If you're going to accuse me of cheating, just go **** yourselves. I've had it with dealing with assholes over the net. This is real, it has happened, and unless Bliz fixes this fast, it will happen to you.

Look, I understand you are fustrated, but when you ask for help, you can safety assume people are going to look at this as a trojan. Because I can understand that you are looking for somewhere to vent your rage, I'll give you a pass. But try to remember that you asked for help.
To make your character respond that way would require sending commands from your computer. Battle.net doesn't every make you unequip and drop items. I am willing to hazzard a guess that Blizzard can't fix this. Trojans are fairly sophisticated these days and there was ways to install them a number of ways. I don't know if you were attempting to cheat or not, but I am relatively certain that you have an unwanted visitor on your PC.

Well, you're better than most in this thread. At least you didn't out and out accuse me of cheating or called my a liar. Out of this whole thread, It doesn't seem like anyone except you even tried to help!
I think nearly everyone tried to help you out here. Some were just really rude about it, but very correct to what they were saying. Someone is in your computer, or has to have something in your computer. Generally, at least 99.9% of the time, people even though they say they have not downloaded something, have. Most commonly they admit to downloading a membership application from a clan site or something.
I am not accusing you of cheating in anyway. What kinds of websites have you visited lately? Any diablo sites other then blizzard or this one?
I believe it is possible to pick up viruses from visiting java enables sites. I do not know enough about the diablo code to know if it is possible to code something into java script to make this happen. OneHandOgre (hehe, had to throw that in) would know if it is possible and the one to ask.
