rhyme shield?

I have the runes necessary, what shield do you recommend putting Rhyme in? I heard grim shield was the best. Where's the best place to find it, or does any1 hav a high defense one that I can get for a pgem or something?

If you have the strength, tower shield provides the best blocking.

For a sorcy(few points on strength) I'd recomend a grim shield... low req, and good defence and block... or even the exeptional one(dont remember the name)... it can have a really good defence too, with some look... and you will need less lvl and strength... cya

I use Heaters myself... much easier to find than a Grim, while still having pretty decent defense (average is almost the same but it comes in a much smaller range of def values) and 2% more block (still 2% less than the heavy shields though). You pay for the ease of getting one with a slightly higher strength req though (77) but you're probably already using equipment with higher reqs than that anyway, so it isn't a problem.

The grim shield is the exceptional version of the bone shield, whereas a "trolls nest" is the elite version. At any rate, the trolls nest has a 106 str requirement. Not too steep, but a little out of reach for some builds, depending on personal taste. I'd go with the trolls nest if it can be found and you already have the needed str.

troll nest isnt a bad choice. I would use it as most people use rhyme in conjunction with Skullders (97 Strength) when they mf. two large strenght charms seems worth it to me. Only problem is that i hardly find 2 socket troll nest :scratch:

However if u use tal armor then that is a different story...

hey thanks for ur replies. Now the problem is finding one of these. Even just a normal one then I can get Larzy to socket it. Anyone know where I can get info on the best mlvl to get these items off of?

My heater (2sock) dropped in NM Baal. Thats Rhyme for me

imo only 3 things to consider: block, defense and strength requirement. depending on your preferance and build, i think heater, hyperion and grim shield offer the most bangs for your bucks. with regard to toll nest vs. grim shield - troll nest require 106 str with 158-173 def while grim shield require 58 str with 50-151. notice that the max def for both differ not that much but you save 48 stat points with grim shield!

I've found several grim shields while levelling my merc in NM River of Flame and NM Act 5 runs. I just wished I had kept an extra one to give to you!

My guess is that finding the shield won't be the difficult part. You've already got that shael, which is proving an impossible find for me. Luck is a wicked and funny animal...

Just find cow games in NM and Hell. Usually you can find many socketed items in a cow lvl that has already been cleared.

weird thing is most of the grim shields i've found (4 so far) are all below 70 defense. Maybe i'm just unlucky or most of them are just that low. I finally made my rhyme in a 91 def grim shield. Can always make again if I see something better, Shael is pretty easy to get (countess runs).

i also use heaters, good shield, better block than grim and also a light shield so it doesnt slow you down like tower and some other shields

y'kno what would be perfect? sup 3os troll's nest. just 10 stat points away from the strength requirement. any1 hav?

I had a sup 2socks troll nest lying around and decided to make a splendor over rhyme. By the way which do you think is better, rhyme or splendor ? (for a switch shield with ali baba of course).
