i am making a orb sorc and need a build for one. i am currently lvl 35 and doing normal baal runs. my orb is lvl 5 and cold mastery is 5 also. my ice bolt is lvl 4 and tele is lvl 1. i need to know where to put my stats also and what to max and what not to max. are any of the cold armors worth maxing also. i plan on using a tals set when i get high enough also (i already have the set).
thanks a lot

I'm building an orb sorc too. Meph is too boring with the moat trick. I'm going to max orb, ice bolt, cold mastery, telekinesis. I put 1 point into warmth, static, and frozen armor. I use an eshield orb on switch(going to save 4 skillpoints if i ever need to ditch switch :d). I went 75 base strenght to not have to rely heavily on charms to use skullders and to use a tower rhyme. I'm putting enough dex to have max block with whistans. I'm putting my remaining stat points in a 1-1 ratio of energy to life as i'm not sure yet how effective my eshield will be with plus skills. I would like my orb sorc to eventually have a call to arms, so I will be glad that I have added to vit. Havne't yet decided if i'm gonna pump eshield, warmth, or teleport when I finished maxing. That will depend on my mana pool and how close I am to always being able to teleport. That Tals is very nice, I wish i had. I personally wouldn't use the whole set, i'd swap in a shako and occy and keep the rest. 100 more mf would be more valuable to me.

i have a FO sorc, shes lvl50 now and has max FO and about 4 into cold mastery. what about cold immunes tho, what r u guys doing? some1 suggested i start maxing fireball and firebolt (bolt is for the synergy), and not fire mastery since ill only be using fireball in the fire tree. he said firebolt gives better dmg as its a synergy for fireball. is he right?

also, the friend said not to put hardly any points into cold mastery, as he said it sucks. is that true? i thought it was the best mastery of all!

No it doesn't suck. Your friend is obviously ill-informed. Cold mastery reduces enemy resists by a HUGE amount which is invaluable when you come up against Hell monsters with high resistances. I'm making an Orb sork on hardcore and will be maxing Cold Mastery and Telekinesis for a strong meph runner. If you're determined to have a seconday element for immunes I would suggest going Meteorb.

pcgamer - the guide you're looking for is Sasja's meteorb guide, its in the guide thread at the top of the page. You will have to max fire mastery for your fireball to be of any use in hell, and I would personally recommend maxing meteor instead of firebolt like the guide says.
warthofgod - Yah, there's also a guide stickied at the very top of the page - its not even in the guides thread.
I don't understand why would u max telekinesis. Please explain.
Thnx

Tonii, TK is a synergy for ES... look at the stickies to get a more detailed thread.
CIs? Easy! Purchase a Lower Resist Wand. Sure it costs an arm and a leg, but being an MFer you should have plenty of cash... if not, somethings wrong

Lower resist doesn't work for all monsters though depending on how high their resistances are. You will still run into many problems dealing with CIs.
