Yes yes, believe it or not, the Skelimancers are in fact Generals!
They stand behind their armies composed of:

An infantry line (skeleton warriors)
A tank line (mercenary + golem)
An artillery line (skeleton mages)
Air-Strikes/Surgical-Strikes (CE)
:cheesy:
arghh... ok ok ok, I stop... I am perhaps too tired :flip:

Hence the old term Frontline General for a Skelliemancer who fights with his army.

CE is more along the lines of Heavy Artillery or a Carpet bombing. Your curses are probably more Surgical Strikes (debilitating the enemy with a minimum of collateral damage).

the modern skeliemancer lacks artillery and his riflemen are inept, lack of cavalry and artillery hinder him

besides, your skeliemancer holds the rank of Lt. Colonel

Actually, I don't see my merc as a "tank". On the old ladder he might have been able to tank something, but I very much doubt that me current merc can do that.

Also, he's much too slow --- skellies engage the enemy long before the merc notices them. Which is a good thing, since it means the skellies protect the merc.

However, the main job of my merc is to provide the might aura. I don't know how this could be translated in military terms; he's either giving some moral support (on the battlefield?), or he's some sort of inferior commander.

Gumby, on the other hand, is a real multitalent. While he can block enemy advances all by himself for quite some time, he's not just a stupid punchball --- at times, he will vanish, just to pop up right out of thin air behind enemy lines and hit them with some weird toxin that hinders enemy movements. Must be some kind of ninja training, black ops corps, things the government denies all knowledge about. Something like that. Very elite, for sure.

Actually my first name for the Commandomancer build, before I'd heard of it, was the frontline general as well. It's a fun build...especially when you learn to use reach to your advantage. Using a +4 Ariocs to fight through 2 ranks of skeletons makes you VERY hard to damage...no block, but enough vit to take some hits...it's hard to judge, really.
