gotta use the shield(homoculus) in hell.. i am thinking about beast...but what is the best possible weapon to socket??
or maybe use beast for iron golem  ??
also, is maxing the raise skele and SM a good idea for meleemancer? or should i better put points in to poison dagger( coz chance to hit is now in the 60s  )

Gear is not yet discussed and it depends on the rest of your build and wealth.

A Beast is a fantastic weapon for a Meleemancer and it covers up some weaknesses, but it is very expensive. Saying that it is the best is something I would not do as there are some other choices and it all depends on personal preference.
You might want to take a look at the classics such as Lightsaber or a nice Azurewrath. You could even take a look at Doom and BotD.

You wrote it, why don't you know about the gear selection? (http://www.rpgforums.net/showpost.php?p=2180385&postcount=2)

Well, I was kinda assuming that he wanted a chart with the "best" gear for the "best" level. But you are right. Drink? :drink:

Ettin Axe

Required Level: 72
Required Strength: 145
Required Dexterity: 45
Durability: 24
Weapon Speed: [10]
+220-270% Enhanced Damage (varies)
+5% To Maximum Cold Resist
Cannot Be Frozen
Socketed (3-5) (varies)
(Ladder Only)
(Only Spawns In Patch 1.10 or later)

and plug in some X ed /15 to reach some break points??

IAS Tables (http://diablo2.ingame.de/tips/calcs/weaponspeed.php?lang=english). You would need about 54% to reach some acceptable speeds. But the secondary mods aren't that great.

That is a link to another meleemancer guide. Not as long winded as the other, but it provides a good and reasonably cheap gear setup and presents a slightly different route than mantis's.

There are better weapons out there. The Ettin has some nice damage, but the secondary mods aren't too hot.

i might be totally out, but i'd go with fleshripper+poison dagger personally...

That is a great combo if you don't mind using daggers.

No I meant what I said gvandale. I don't mean in any way to attack mantis's guide because it is good. But I think it is too long. By the time I finished reading it I forgot what was stated in the first 2/3 of it and and had to re-read. I just think that he could have had the same ammount of info in a more compact form. My personal preference is guides as short as possible. And I still think uncreativerealy's guide is good. There could have been more explanation but I don't see anything vital to a meleemancer that wasnt in his. But I don't mean to argue I just dont appreciate you editing a quote of mine. Why would I say somethign if thats not how I intended it?

And to be slightly on topic. I also disagree with a choice of the ettin axe. A poison dagger necro with fleshripper should be a nice route though.

I've seen quite a few guides longer then MM's guide, try reading the pit runner guide O_O.
