Hi,

I'm currently making a support sorc for my necro --- essentially maxing warmth, teleport, energy shield and telekinesis with possible additional points in freezing armor. The idea is that she just teleports to whereever I want to be, pops up a portal and the necro does the actual killing; this should greatly speed up his "mf-speed" while I don't need any expensive sorc gear (so far I never managed to build a viable sorc, hence the support role. I had started to collect Tal items on the previous ladder, but that's history now...).

Now, each additional level in teleport reduces the mana cost by 1; according to arreat summit it will be 5 mana at level 20. She will be getting some +skills from gear, with preference in +lightning --- does that mean teleport at lvl 25 will no longer cost mana? And, should I get it even higher --- will she recover mana from teleport? :-)

If the build turns out ok, I'll probably redo her later --- protection from gear instead of energy shield, mana from gear instead of energy; things like that. And a spell for killing :-) But that's still far away...

this is prolly a dumb question but I'm sorta curious :P

how will your sorc put up a tp for your necro? will you have two games running with two accounts and switch back and forth? or did you forget that tps dissapear when you relog...?

In any case after teleport maxes (lvl 27 i believe) it is always 1 mana per cast and no benefits come from putting it up to 40

2 CD keys. yes. Doesn't need two accounts; you can play two characters from the same account at the same time (but not the same char twice :-))

As for the maxing... thanks. It seems that makes Teleport about the only skill with absolutely no additional benefit beyond a certain level :-( Granted, I suppose Blizzard didn't even want people to put a lot of points into teleport, given the little benefit one gets from it.

Still, I hope with 1 mana/teleport even an empty manabulb (manaburn monsters or simply energy shield draining it) shouldn't be too much of a danger :-) It would have been fun with the later build (killing spell instead of ES), though --- "I'm out of mana, I need to teleport around a bit" :-)

Not really :-) One of the main reasons I'm going for a teleport-only sorc is because I don't have ANY decent sorc gear (she's wearing frostburns now, though), so it's still a matter of HOPING that she'll make it to hell-andy/mephi and possibly dia/baal to pop up that portal for my playchar.

I'm even having problems collecting my gear for the necro (to get back close to where I was when Blizzard crushed the old ladder --- atm "close" means everything but the 2 nagels, the mf charms and the gull-weaponswitch, as these don't really help with the killing); I do not dare to even try to get decent sorc equipment nowadays, with everybody and his friends making sorcs.

In the long run I'll probably be able to upgrade her gear, hopefully to an extent where I can start to put skillpoints into offensive skills so she can do some damage. However, contrary to you, my sorc is strictly for item hunting, so she doesn't need a weak spell just to pretend she's helping with the killing because she doesn't need to be lvl 99 --- if I can't give her a strong spell then I can just as well keep it at no killing.

At least it's interesting to see that even people with access to godly gear consider making such builds :-)

once upon a time, lightning mastery reduced teh cost of lightning spells, lol. but that was a LONNNG time ago.

how does this ladder system work? after a ladder season finishes to the ladder chars from the old season turn into regular NL chars? The reason is ask is cuz I have some necro stuff for trade (USEast) and i'm looking for sorc gear (tals ammy, specifiaclly)

Also, when spawning uniques, is it possible for a unique to spawn if it is already in the game? i.e. i'm wearing a ring like dwarf star, is it possible for another to drop?

The build with teleport/enchant could work well for you if you are a summoner MFing, since you could enchant your entire army before she teleports off.
