What's best SKill distribution for Skeleton/Mastery?

Does anyone know how to figure out what's the best distribution for Skeleton/Mastery assuming I do not want to max both. I am thinking about only 30 skill pts between the two. So is it better 15/15 or 10/20 or 20/10, etc.

Personally, i dont understand how any necro wouldnt want to use skellies to the max, theyre so kool! but anwyz, it depends on whether u want quantity of quality. ur probably best with 15/15, i think as this gives u around 6 skellies with decent damage. with some decent +skills, u could get to 8/9 skellies. otherwise 20RS/10SM, cause SM does less to help the skellies that RS, except increase life/damage, tho RS does this and increases the numbers. but i really believe ud do well maxing both. then, if u use revives, with just 1 point in revive, u get max out dudes, which can really help.
give a bit more info on what ur building, and people will be able to help more. it really depends what u want ur skellies to do.

The best way is to 10(SM)/20(S) for best dmg.

Raise Skellie > Skellie Mastery, so max RS out first and put what you have left into SM.

I guess you are a Hybrid of one kind or another, so your skeletons are mainly meat shields ( or bone shields perhaps :lol: ) and not a major source of damage. For increasing damage max RS and fill in with SM as that give more skellies and they each do more damage.

Here are some numerical examples assuming you only have 30 skill points to put into RS and SM. Remember you get more skellies with higher RS too.

At RS 20, SM 10 Dam = 81-83 and life = 1159 (displayed life = 479)
At RS 15, SM 15 Dam = 69-71 and life = 1134
At RS 10, SM 20 Dam = 64-65 and life = 909

With 5 plusses to summoning these 30 points become
At RS 25,SM 15 Dam = 152-154 and life = 1944
At RS 15,SM 25 Dam = 106-108 and life = 1694

With 10 plusses to summoning these 30 points become
At RS 30,SM 20 Dam = 251-254 and life = 2929
At RS 20,SM 30 Dam = 168-170 and life = 2679


This clearly shows why it is always better to Max RS (with 1 point in SM) and then increase SM as points become available. Incidently, calculating and typing this has been useful for me as I thought it was much closer between RS and SM than it is. RS is a clear winner - unless you need the SM for mages or Revives in one of the more exotic summoner builds.
