"full game" bug?

I just tried to help someone with DC in his game, but he had a public game with max players on "1"

so he left and i tried to join but got "game is full" eventhough no one was in it. eventually the game ended it's existence because no one was in it. I'm pretty sure no one would have joined during the period we tried to switch.

now I've also heard about a bug that keeps a game full eventhough it isnt. so now i'm wondering, how exactly does this bug work? what triggers it and what can be done to prevent it from happening?

from what i hear, if the game was full at any time this can happen, not sure exactly how it triggers or whatnot, but it seems VERY common now

It does happen alot, and i hate it. Hard to find a baal game in the first place, even harder when they are 'full'

ya happend in a dclone game tonight.... 8 people in it, 7 leave, call friends, nobody can join

hmm ok so it should be happening on filled up games then and people leave but it remains full.

i think i may know why. i made a norm cow game 4 my friend, my barb made game and got leg, then opened portal. my barb tried to ownd cows but his ww was not strong enough. then barb left the game and i wanted to bring in my hammerdin so he killed faster. then it kept saying the game was full and my friend told me there was only 3 persons in that 8 player game.
o i thought what a heck, let me gave another try. well then i made game with barb, made cows then left rite after the portal was open and wanted to bring my hamerdin. i got the same message again while there were only maybe 4 people in that game. i did this way because my hammerdin couldn't make cows. funny thing it is, i had thought of wanting to go into the first game, guess what happened? i went in and my friend joined rite away.

whether u understand or not. i think this is what u do. u friend who left that 1 player game should join or make another game, this is the the only way to tell bnet u r not in that game if u got the message saying game is full.

brilliant... I just tried this out and it worked for me! Not saying it will work every time, but you're a genius. Just join a different game, leave and then try to join the full game and you'll be straight!

i get this a lot with dueling games, i find the best thing to do is to wait a few minutes or join another game. if you keep trying to join it isnt going to magicly work. of course, wating a few minutes wont do any good for baal runs.

i also think spam bots play a big role in this. between spam and players a game can fill up real fast, which probably leads to more and more "full games."

my personal opinion is that the current "game full" bug is just a side effect of all the bots and hacks that are finding their way into the game lately, slowing down the servers and making that dreaded game creation line ever longer. im pretty sure that with all the people joining and leaving games so quickly(bots and d clone hunters) the game doesnt acknowledge you outside the game until you log out completely or join a completely different game.

This bug has been around since I can remember, back in 1.09 when I first started playing it was there, and it still is.
I dunno any solution for it, I'm just saying its been around for a while its probably not gonna go away for a whle :P

I agree that this has to be most annoying bug for multiplayer, hopefully it gets rectified in V1.13 :coffee:
