Best Mauling Weapon?

What would be the best weapon for Mauling as a Werebear? I know that attack speed is based only on your weapon ias, so what would be a good weapon that could do a good amount of damage without sacrificing speed?

15% ed superior 6 socket phase blade with sheals and ed/ias jewel to reach 4 frames for pvp....pvm sometning that hits at least 6 though I prefer 5 or under 2 handed and that hits hard.

6 socket 110 ias phase only makes sense for a fire claw bear to deliver that fire dmg. since there are weapons which damage is sup pb * 10 there is no need to maul with a pb.

deathcleaver or both zerker. 2-handed you could go with windhammer or ik maul which aren't too expensive.

have you actually tried mauling with a death cleaver or a BotD? you'll be so slow that by the time you get your third swing, you'll probably be owned by the standard 4fpa maul bear. no my friend, not all chars value the stereotype BotD :cheesy:.

the point in 110 ias pb is to keep the stun from maul. that's why you need 4fpa. you can get dmg elsewhere. nobody said maul bears are cheap.

for PvM, i'd choose a 5 fpa weapon. griz caddy is a nice choice. 2 hand, i don't like 2 hander :) .

maybe if you knew something I would care about this misinformation that you gave him but mehhh.....read my post dude for a pvp maul bear that wants the fastest attack possible you need to go with the phase!!! botd are ****ign overated and damm slow in the case...u use that death cleaver or botd and ill use my phase and Ill rip you apart!!!

acutally that is why in my post I stated for pvp use the phase for pvm use a 6 frame or better 2 hander!!! :howdy:

Thanks guys, I think I'll go with the 110 Phase when I get my hands on an eth Phase Blade and some ED/IAS Jewels..... Just one last question though, how much damage can I expect with the Phase Blade? I have Werebear, Maul, and HoW all maxed out.

what aboot a 4 socket gris caddy socketed with your assortment of jewels/runes thats what im workin with . u can mix the slower speeds of a pber and the lower dmg of a botd. pbs dont spawn eth either but dimensional rares and crystals do

I personally think that the new griz at 5 FPA would be better than the 4 FPA phase.

Use a shael buriza, it is fast and its something different. Plus you can pump alot into Dex for a great AR :drink:

You need lotsa +max stuff to make a 4fpa phase worthwhile (wartrav, +max jewels, +max charms, bloodfists for +5 min etc)

For PvM I'd stick to gris' caddy.

Up'd, Eth or both ribcracker is a nice weapon for bears(iirc its 5fps) but the dmg + cb are like good and all.

from what i have seen of duels in pvp with a bear, a caddy just can't cut it. Its too slow. I hit nearly as much damage with a phase blade (4k vs. 4.8k), and the extra frame REALLY makes a difference. I dunno about you, but I need to get in all the hits i can vs. wolves/barbs/zealots/etc.
