Watched some AVP trailers this morning... looks like it could be a good film. At least its better than some cross-over concepts I could think of. There really is nothing in the mythology of the two films which could really prevent them from existing in the same universe... and they are both powerful in their own ways. I mean the AVP games have done well so far (with maybe the exception of the one that went down with the Atari Jaguar, but thats no fault of the game's).

OnT: I just fought NM ancients With my future Tesla-Bear (not got beast yet, so still going with a really slow normal attack with Atlantean). It was in an open game (NM Ancientses (help me plz...)) and I managed to take out Talic, but used up half my pots, then Korlic, leaving me with 3 super healling pots to fight Madawac. I ran out of pots when Madawac was down to about 1/3rd hp. Now I coulda just TPed out and gotten more pots to try again, but I really didnt want to. Just as I was about to give up, a necro comes in. I party up and tell him to bring pots, but hes already on the summit >.< I shoulda said to bring pots first. Anyway, he drops ONE (1) greater healing pot for me. That lasts long enough to do some damage, but then I have to fall back and hide behind a pillar again, and I manage to get the necro to drop two more pots, just enough to finnally nail Madawac. Not sure the necro realises how lucky we both are he turned up when he did. He got a free Ancients quest (which I could tell he wouldn't be able to do alone) and I got the health pots I desperately needed, just in time :jig:

I had my first fun PvM game in a while today, it was actually COOPERATIVE!! Of course people were grabby, and we were being lead by someone with maphack but we stopped and actually played, killed for exp, and refused to go just by the bare minimum for the acts. Eventually it got to the point where people were voluntarily giving away things they found to the character classes that might actually need them. Too bad we all went off afk for lunch, came back and the game dropped -.-

Cheers Zabo. What base weapon in the Beast in? I have 115 STR and 136 dex to play with, so I should be able to cope with most base weapons. I think the only gear I still need is: angelic amu, Aldurs boots, demon limb, 110/120% IAS phase, 9 offensive GCs, and of course the CoA. which I don't expect to get for free, any more than I expect a free enigma for my druid :D

A nice pala gave me angelic ring+amu, which jumped my chance to hit Lister up from 56% to 84%.

Which was nice.

Still need aldur's boots and offensive skillers, and I'm gonna make do with Rockstopper till I can get a CoA. Then all I'll need is a 6 shael phase and I'll be in business, though not at full power.

Oh yeah, and my Fire Druid still needs ele gcs w/ life ^^ though I got a free one last night from Dojo, who unfortunately is retiring :(

Did you think i didn't realise that? He's too stretched out in too many directions to be really good. Lack of +max res/absorb will be a problem, and the fact that his resistances won't be stacked at all and his def will be low too (for a meleer). And the amount of stuff I've had to sacrifice just to get decent AR out of him.

But hopefully he'll stand a small chance of winning some duels, and I hope he is fun to fight with :)

Tell me about it dk with undead along with some gargs and frosties is hard combo the gargs are great anti air and the frosties take out most ground anti air with ease.

I've always felt Orc to be the worst constructed race simply by it's lack of options. They have powerful ground units, but when it comes down to it they can be completely useless. Their casters only seem to have 2 good skills, one of which is completely dependant on the route the person is going. The Heros also have some of the worst ultimates around, Revive and Earthquake aren't really ... useful.

I'm sorry to everyone who suffered through that game of war3 with me. I thought being in a big game might make it easier for me, but it made it worse. I just had to get away from it. I'm not good at handling that kinda frustration. I'll see if I can play through the story a bit and get used to the units/build trees before trying again. Maybe even read some guides or something.

But that just wasn't fun for me. Not even close. Maybe in a few weeks time when I've learned a bit about it you'll all be back to D2.

You can only select 12 units at a time, and most of the time that involves 3 heros taking up the spots. The races seem to be very uneven on how powerful one is compared to the other.

Starcraft is probably better in most ways.

compexity makes a game interesting. sc is a complex game if you were never exposed in blizz rts games. war3 is a jump in types, though i dont really like the hero concept, ive learned to deal with it and play as it is.

like i said before, red alert, C&C games in general is about who masses most units (and its always the same type of units where in other games, theres counter units) the fastest possible, wins. boooooring.
