View Full Version : Questions about skill allocation on a Fury/Rabies hybrid.

As the title implies, I've created a F/R hybrid for Ladder. The skills that I want to have are:
20 Werewolf
20 Lycanthropy
20 Poison Creeper
20 Oak Sage
20 Feral Rage
20 Rabies
20 Fury
This is 140 skill points, 30 over the maximum you can get. My question is: how should I allocate my skill points for the best possible character? If possible, I'd like one build with Carrion Wind included, and one without.
Take your time responding, the Druid's only at level 3.
[EDIT] Keep in mind that I have nothing on Ladder.

The first thing I'd cut there would be Feral Rage, then Werewolf. I might also back off a bit on the Oak Sage, maxing that last.

How many points does Feral Rage need to be useful?

Hey Atrocitas,
I have a NL lvl99 Fury/Rabies druid and my skill points are as follows:
20 Fury
20 Lycan
20 Rabies
20 Poison Creeper
18 Oak Sage
10 Werewolf
I find this a nice balance but you may want to lean more towards Werewolf over Oak Sage depending on preference.
As for how many points it takes for Feral Rage to be of use, I say only one skill point. A Fury/Rabies druid typically has tons of +Shapeshifting Skills items/charms, so one actual skill point is all that's necessary. I hope this helps and good luck.

you caould always find a carrion and save 20 skill points ^^

Well, I could, but I'm disgustingly poor :)

base feral rage is all anyone ever needed.
you can go with lower wolf skill and use angelic rings and you'll be absolutely fine. hell, if you max p creeper you should be able to leave wolf at base and use 2x angelics.
matter of fact, I may remake my fury/rabies hybrid to not use the stupid carrion ring.
two angelics should give me more attack rating than 1 and max wolf skill, and the extra ring ends up adding about 200 more life or so.
plus i can summon a creeper to **** everything it sees!

I started allocating points to Creeper. I doubt that anyone would give me the ring, and I don't want to wait until level 67 (is that it?) anyway. He's currently level 21;
10 Lycanthropy
1 Werewolf (+1 from helm)
1 Feral Rage
3 Rabies
2 Poison Creeper
5 Oak Sage
Strength: 70
Dexterity: 40
Vitality: 50
Energy: 20 (base)
Attack damage: 49-83
Feral Rage: 46-102
Rabies poison damage: 71-112
My AR and defense aren't that good. I use a Great Axe, as I haven't found a decent one-handed weapon to use with a shield.
I could really use the Angelic rings and amulet :)

i'll be honest with you, the best way to play level 1-25 is to go ahead and max creeper and use the artic set.
i always play as a hunter for the first 25 levels on a druid, and you will find that creeper can handle anyhting in norm by itself.

Alright, I'll test it out. Question, though: how will Creeper fare against the act bosses (namely Diablo and Baal) and Act 5?
[EDIT] I just tested it out in SP. Poison Creeper is wonderful in Normal. I only have to recast it on bosses, and it kills everything in seconds. I think I'm restarting my character :D
Thanks for the help :worship:
