How does CB work with a kick asn? Here is what I get from the arreat summit:

This is a chance of reducing a monster's health by X% in a single blow.

-Default: 1/4th
-vs. Players: 1/10th
-vs. Hirelings: 1/10th
-vs. Champions, Uniques, Bosses: 1/8th
-with missile weapons, default: 1/8th
-with missile weapons, vs. Players: 1/20th
-with missile weapons, vs Hirelings: 1/20th
-with missile weapons, vs Champions, Uniques, Bosses: 1/16th
-The life removed is also scaled with number of players. So that if a monster has 450% more life due to 8 players (or whatever the value is) the life removed is further reduced by the same amount (450% would equal multiplying by 4.5 so the life removed by Crushing Blow is divided by 4.5).
Physical resistance does apply to Crushing Blow damage, but only if the resistance is positive. Crushing Blow Items stack in most cases. In 1.10 Crushing Blow is calculated before your normal damage. So, before doing the damage that you would normally do, there is a chance you will reduce the health of the monster by X% then normal damage apply to the resulting lower life. If you have more than one item with Crushing Blow, the probabilities will be added together. There will be one random check for a Crushing Blow. There is no check for each separate item, so one can not get multiple Crushing Blows in one attack.

So, normally I can take off 1/4 of a monster's life with CB and 1/10th of the player's life (PVP)?

Yes, CB is what makes a kicker a force in PvM.

The jury is out on PvP effectiveness. I have played with 60% CB and no CB and I can't really see a difference. I wonder if PvP CB works as advertised. I have done no extensive testing other than dueling and in those instances, it didn't seem to buy me much.

Yeah doing my homework on a kicker asn and was debating if it was worth putting a Ber in a Jade and putting it on the effective hand and using Up'ed Gore Riders instead of shadow dancers. Anyone out there with experience want to enlighten me?

Jades have weapon range 1 and so then will your kicks. Keep that in mind.

You can opt for guilliaume's face, steelrends, up'ed gores, BER run in weapon, all of these will net you CB. Also, I think BLACK and KINGSLAYER runewords provide a sweet CB mod. I still want to experiment with a superlow damage attack and 100% CB to see if I can see the CB in action against someone just volunteering to be a punching bag.

CB works as advertised as far as the 1/10th damage goes (i.e., the first hit on a player with 5000 life will reduce their life by 500 from just the crushing blow effect.)
However what is not well advertised is that it is always 1/10th of the opponents REMAINING life, not of their total life.
Think of it as a physical version of the Sorceress skill Static, that works in PVP also (albeit at the rate of 1/10th.)
So, as to whether you should soley rely upon CB in PVP, the answer is NO, you will take off good chunks of life to begin with, but then the effect withers as your opponent has less and less life.
Now, add the CB effect to a high damage attack and you are really adding a very good chunk of damage. Remember that CB is in addition to your normal damage, so it can NEVER hinder your damage output. Also note that the 1/10th damage is after the PVP penalty, so think of it this way: Against an opponent with 2500 life and 0% PDR, you are doing the equivilent of 1470 listed damage for the first hit IN ADDITION to your actual listed damage. This is quite impressive. Also something else, people tend to play differently when they are full of life versus having a sliver of life left for obvious reasons. CB works well to literally "knock the stuffing" out of an opponent as it is most effective when an opponent has full life.
