Bloodfist on a necro :D Ugly!

If you've got some necro item that's annoying you toss it this way :) Just started my first HC char few days ago and I'm playing safely teehee ...

well dont feel bad, if it makes you feel any better im lvl 85 right now on the ladder and the only recognizable items i have on me right now are nightsmoke and duskeep (man im really slow at clicking items)

Have you even bothered to read the stats on those Bloodfists? Or perhaps you just missed the fact that they have +40 life and 30%FHR. 40 life is 20 stat points on a Necro, and you'd need 3 Grand Charms of Balance to equal the FHR in one pair of Bloodfists (lol, Total Raisin Bran). They're absolutely godly for lvl 9, and I'd give my left nut to have a pair on any one of my higher lvl single player untwinked chars (76 Trapasin, 68 Blizzard Sorc, 56 Frost Zealot, etc.).

What are you, a Skellymancer? Do you need Frosties so that you... don't have to chug a blue while summoning your army... or pick up a couple potions every few minutes in battle? Do you need Trang's so you can... spam Amp faster? I don't mean to sound too flamey here, but if Bloodfists are your worst item then I think you're doing just fine on gear.

I was using upgraded (for style points) personalized (because I consider my character's autograph to multiply an item's value by 40) Bloodfists on my 96 Sin in season 1. Hitting FHR breakpoints is handy.

And don't say it's not as important on a Necro, trapsins get hit even less often O_O

Also using an autographed pair on my sorc right now, and I can't think of a single pair of gloves I'd rather have...gogo 86% FHR. Of course it's a bit more important on a sorc who's teleporting through packs than it is for a necro, but the point is don't diss the bloodfist.

Amusing. Honestly, do what the other 3 posts have said, think about the stats you're saving. Bloodfists are sweet. The only thing my Necro has right now is an etheral *something* shield with 2 to summon skeletons.

Bloodfists are my only unique and I don't have any rares, so no Phat, they are not my worst item.

What lvl are you and what act are you in?

Saving Barbs in Act 5 get RAL ORT TAL, buy 3 sock Large Shield in Act 2 and have 43 rez all and more from Ancients Pledge

Better yet, save diamonds put them into the sockets or a (2) sock Head or (3) sock shiield and get either 38 or 57 rez all.

Gamble Belts, boots, and glooves and you can get as high as 30+ triple resisits, mana FHR, Life, stats, MF...etc And Bloodfists would be the last thing I worried about changing so gamble belts and boots.

If you have piss poor gambling luck you can also take socketed armor and slap runes in it for rez. Ral 30 FR Ort 30 LR, Thul 30 CR........(3) sock armor can be basically 30 priz with some runes that fall all the time, get a (4) sock and you could slap a Ruby for life or Saph for Mana in there, or another rune and get 60% rez for one element.


This game is dead simple to get your resisits, it provides everything you need, but you have to use your head and use what is provided. A Necro need almost nothing but life and resisits and maybe a little mana and a bit of cast rate to succeed dependina on build.

Also, shopping is a good way to get things. If you are in NM you may find socket armor for sale with life, or mana, or FHR, or something......slap runes or gems in those for whatever you need.

Also, there is a recipe for socketing normal class items like Breast Plates and Tower Shields or Kites or whatever. i dont recall the recipes but they are listed on this site. Simply go to the main page of this site and on the left click Horadric Cube and then look for 1.10 Beta Recipes and it is in there.

Dont be scared to put things in sockets as they can always be removed but will be lost when that is done, but lets say you shop a Artisians Full Plate wiht Life......you can turn this into some pretty godly armor to use, or try and trade it as they are wanted pretty bad by duelers. That armor could be 96 MF wiht Big life, or could be 30 Priz (not counting poison) wiht BIGGER life, or you could even go as cheap as throwing a few TIR runes in it for 2 mana/kill so when you CE 100 monsters your bulb fills immediately.

i have a lvl 31 sorcy with TIR TIR Helm and Armor, found a Rare wand with 5 Mana/kill.......13 mana/kill and man she doesnt need squat for mana rihgt now and wont. BTW, that wand is Godly, 20 FCR, coupld resisits and a small Energy stat and...AND....AND Confuse charges.....Confuse rules!!!!


Boil this all down...............use your head and use what falls and make it work as it is damn easy.....only problem is most people are so focused on getting Eleits and Exceptional items they forget what the Normal ones do and what those stupid throw away or crafting runes have the power to do for you. PGEMS arent just for crafting and rolling........they do other nice things also.

Also.....learn your Normal Sets......read them and learn what they do for you. What can Tancs ammy and one other item or set do for you? What about Angelics Ring/ammy/armor, or Vidalas boots with Ammy, or Hsarus boots and Belt......how about a single Civerbs ammy 40% mana regen? Not too bad for a summoner BTW.
