I have given it some thought and I am going to stop using maphack. I'm sure noone cares but I am going to tell you why anyway. I quit because I think it will make the game more difficult, which is why I started playing HC in the first place. I suck real bad but I still have fun playing and hopefully this will help teach me to be more cautious. I will enjoy the game more I am sure. Opinions?

Good on you. Always good to know there's one less hacker on Bnet. You are right, you will get more enjoyment from the game not using maphack. You will die more, but don't let that discourage you, as you'll become are better player from it. One thing to keep in mind is to not compare your achievements with others as unfortunately maphackers seem to prosper and the majority of experienced players use it. :cheesy:

Maphack is silly good for you.
For anyone who may use it, and considers it a tool that makes their gameplay experience more enjoyable without offering them a significant advantage;

:lol:
now THAT is a funny picture.
And MH sure is an advantage, especially in that area with the nasty exploding dolls. It sure made me stop doing NM Mephisto runs and instead go a little further to do NM Baal runs.
Good choice. You are now allowed to gain respect on battle.net ;)

This IS the kind of response I was expecting but I am still fearful that I will not be able to keep up with the MH'ers like Zounce said. Oh well. It WAS always kinda fun to see what kind of gear people had tho cause it was interesting for me to see things like HoZ and Shako that I never have myself :p

Never worry about others, just worry about yourself, if your play rates a 7 on a scale of 1 to 10 and someone else's rate's a 9, but they use MH, you are honestly the better player. Take comfort in that. Never worry about the opinions of others.
I do not generally like playing with MHers for 2 reasons.
1. Always taking the shortest route misses you out on a lot of experience that you just have to make up for anyway. I also feel that we are cheating in always taking the direct route and missing out on some fun challenges.
2. I hate having my gear scannned. Its like having someone comment on the colour of your underwear. I know some gear is obvious without scanning. I do not duel so its not for that. I just like having a little privacy ;) . (besides my gear is often so crappy its kind of embarassing...your still wearing THAT....type of thing).
