View Full Version : Is a meteorb sorc cable of rushing on hell?

I was wondering if they can do it without dying. Last season i used a hammerdin, but i think hammerdins are pretty boring.... And dont even mention a skelemancer lol.
Any other ideas instead of meteorb sorc? A meteorb sorc will be able to handle pretty much everything in the game becoz of 2 pretty strong trees. But i guess the big problem will be surviving.
I just cant decide at all :scratch:

in my opinion u dont got enuff skill points for orb + meteor cause i think telekinese max and some in e shield is a must to survive its a great sc build however and i think it can be done with godly eqeupment in hell hc aswell
Yes, she can rush and she can do it even without ES/TK and godly equipment. All you need is a bit of practice and patience.
I've done it many times with this build in 1st season.

But will a sorc be able to solo ancients? Maybe bone prison from marrows will be enuf? Mercs cant tank for so long. So i guess thats gonne be the biggest prob? Any suggestions of how to get past ancients with a sorc?

prison for ancients is useless as they get out of it pretty easily. I prefer using walls when playing necros. Actually cast million of them but.... what the heck :)

in sc, meterorb sorc in endgame battle gear has been a top choice for rushing ppl in Hell for a long time. no exception on today's ladder. when handling hell ancients, she even has the ability to keep her high-lvl act2 defiance merc (if she uses this one on arreat summit) surive the whole battle.
so, no doubt about her capabilities as a best rusher.
but in hc, on HCL, it'll be really up to you to decide if yuo need to risk her.
this sorc plus a summon-based necro in endgame battle gear are a best duo for rushing ppl through hell. replacing the sorc with a hammerdin (or a javazon) can get the job done too, but it'll take more time even if you both can teleport.
if some third-party programs are used to boost your d2, a high-lvl sorc in mediocre/MF gear can also get most of the job done equally well.
Legit or not, ES is nice to have, but is probably not a must for a 1.10 rushing sorc. And sometimes, you could be better off to not use it even if your sorc has it.

my friend waited until his very first HC (also his very first HCL) char reached lvl90 and then killed ancients to get the guardian title. That sorc was never played in party.

I was just stating a FACT.
As you all can see, compared to ladder 1, more HCL2 sorcs at lower levels can tele to throne in amazingly shorter time. Why then? many of their d2 programs are "powered up".
As you all know, even some of the arguably most legit ppl in 1.09 admitted that they used MH when doing PA/rushing. Why then? Third programs are a source of power to draw to aid your own d2 performance.
As a SW developer and a d2 player, I knew MH, and was able to understand how it works. But I don't use it. My friends who like to play d2 also don't use it.
In fact, if I wanted to cheat in d2, I would never come back to playing this game again. Neverwinter Nights, Star Wars (KOTR), Warcraft III, etc., are all excellent RPG games with top 3D support.
BTW, cheat codes for Neverwinter Nights are legit, officially published. Ironically, many ppl (like me) enjoy playing that game and never used cheat codes. The purpose of the cheat codes and a full set of tools that come along with your purchased game, are for you to customize your own game exp - if you ever decide to be a dungeon master.
"Cheating" in a game is not necessarily bad.
Enough said about this.
I have DM-ed for 10 years m8. I know all about roling the dice and ignoring the numbers.
Cheating and play on the closed realm however don't go together, and your fact stating is kinda odd ;). NWN tools are supported and encouraged by Bioware, hackpacks are fully integrated. MH isnt.

sadly, open realm or not, they have been going together for long. even with just 1/10 year exp in d2, a player could tell me more about this FACT than I can. odd to me, if a widely known fact could be denied.
Games too easy for Map Hack.........I had to use it to prove it to myslef but some people learn from mistakes, some dont.
Map hack is the sole reason we had people thru hell in such big numbers so fast, and why the ladder is littered with living lvl 88+ and not a bunch more dead 70-80 people who died doing quests the legit way.
Meteorb is probably the best rusher because of dual elemental damage and static plus teleport.
As far as hell ancients (and maybe NM ancients too), summoner necros are the best/safest (esp with enchant). I've never tried to solo them with my meteorb sorc, although it probably wouldn't be tremendously difficult, esp if you got battle-ordered beforehand. I can think of lots of characters who have a lot harder time with ancients than a meteorb sorc.
The reason that more people teleport at lower levels now, is they have a lot more practice at map-layout and monster-layout and teleport speed, etc. I don't use MH (and haven't used since I briefly did in 1.08) but I know that I'm teleporting around a lot more bravely than I did at this point in season 1.

So my best bet is to use a meteorb sorc to do the regular rushing and then switchgin to another char for ancients? (like summonmancer? Arent they extremely slow at kiling ancients? or?) Sound like that could work. Maybe also a barb so i can bo the skellies? (i got 2 comps)

for ancients use skelly/army mancer and a concentration paladin somewhere in the corner. due to concentrates huge radius itll prolly cover the summit.
no need to BO the skellies. Amp+Concentrate+Blessed Aim merc +Defiance merc=dead wahtever
