Hi all,
I usually play at work, where (due to obvious considerations), I don't have the sound on. Anyway, I was playing online at home recently and the sound is driving me nuts !!

I appreciate knowing when a ring/amulet/gem is dropped, or knowing that a chest is trapped, so I tend to keep the sound on, but every time someone with an aura comes near me (or goes away), there is this stupid 'zinging noise' that becomes ever more irritating as time passes.

I realise that this is probably absolutely trivial, but I reckon it would be a good idea to have a configuration option that controls this. A suitable name like 'play f***ing irritating noise every time your aura changes' would do it for me :-))

Maybe I'm having a bad day ...

Push a pencil into each ear until you hear a POP. Poof, no more annoying sounds!

Join a game, press escape, options, sound options, then lyou get to controll what type of sounds you want to hear. Not all of them, but things like if you want music, npc speech, just basic sound categories.

I have had a similar problem where a loud ringing noise begins and doesn't stop until I leave the area. I wasn't playing a paladin at the time, so I never connected the sound to auras, but since the noise was limited to that area, there could have been an aura enchanted enemy that started the noise.

In any case, by turning off the "Environmental Effects" sound option, you can shut off the sound. Unfortunately, this also removes all ambient noise from the game... not like anyone listens to that anyways though
