Hey guys, I kinda got hurt while lifting so I’m not really into writing this right now, so I’m sorry if it sounds rushed. Hopefully when Valor returns he’ll take over these little write-ups.

Wow, what a zany night of playing last night, as battle.net decided to attempt to thwart us at every turn. With Valor on vaca, and Reformed and Eludes_knight no showing, the start of 2.0 resembled 1.0 as our team quickly went from the Elite Eight to the Fabulous five. Weed brought in a friend (from team Kosher?) who stepped in with a much-needed avenger. Everything went more or less as expected, with us making steady progress, but being slightly slower then 1.0 as we’re all casters waiting on our main attacks to become available.

Everything went fairly smoothly until we entered the Cave where the first words spoken were “watch for coldcrow”. Three seconds later, four of our lives were in the red, as we turned a corner and ran smack into her pack perched at the top of a staircase. We regrouped and never really saw any further close calls the rest of the night.

Tristram was an adventure, as in our haste to free Griswold’s tormented soul, we kinda forgot to free Cain. In the countess’s tower, our race to be the first sorc to claim stealth was mocked as Countess saw fit to drop us an el. Shortly after, as we we’re traveling through the Black Marsh, we hit lvl 12 gaining lighting and fireball. Battle.net fearing our newfound abilities, decided to drop us all from the game and roll us back about a lvl. Five minutes later we all we’re able to get back in game and resume where we left off.

The rest of the night was steady progress, though around the inner cluster wp we all began to get pings around 4000 again and it continued to the point were we were unable to continue. We called it a night deciding we could make up for it on Wed. We ended up around lvl.15-16 around the inner Cluster WP.

All in all a mildly frustrating first night of play, but due to battle.net and not the team. Progress was slightly slower then 1.0 but that was expected and we should be making up for it soon. By Thursday we’ll be getting Blizzard, Meteor, and chain Lighting which should multiply our killing speed by about 8. Then on Monday we’ll be adding Valor and hopefully we’ll hear from Reformed? Looking forward to Wed.

Quote of the night: “The power of our team crashed battle.net.”

While I'm thinking of it, it's probobly a good time to discuss our mercs. Keep in mind that since mercs don't get exp from group kills they won't really lvl but in team play they also won't die. As they won't lvl you don't really need to get your end game merc untill after we end as a group as you'll have to lvl him afterwords anyway.

I'm assuming since we're mostly ranged that most of us will grab melee mercs to take the pressure off of Ben and our Pally. It would be nice if we didn't double any of the aura's so we can max the offense we get from them. As a firesorc I'm going to want a holyfreeze merc in the end but I'm assuming someone else will cover that one so for group play I'll grab a barb.

*might, defience, and holy freeze would be great.

ya i was thinkin about getting a barb as well.... so we can have few more meat tanks out there to help out those of us who arent ranged.

Forgot that one of the main purposes of these threads are to keep Valor up to date while he's gone, at his request. :uhhuh:

yea, that lag was horrible last night, not sure what that was all about. Too bad too cause we were mowing through stuff. Everyone was complimenting well and we just walked through monsters without even slowing down really:) Looking forward to tomorrow night and mowing down andy and hopefully through durry.

elite eight reminds me very much of the surVall team. Cool to read your stories. We also have 6 active players who are there every meeting. One had too much other stuff to do, and one thought hardcore was too hard afterall ( he died on lvl 17 :( )

As you might have read we took all the different act 2 mercs so we have +6 aura's. I can recommend it. We lvl the mercs in our own time to give them better gear and resistance on nightmare and hell.

...

We had a storm, and I couldn't get online, so instead I went to Spiderman 2. The movie was great, but I kept thinking "I'm missing diablo..."

*sigh* I should be on tomorrow night, I have a trip to make tomorrow, but with any luck I'll be home in time to play. I may have to catch myself up, I figure you guys trust me to play untwinked to get to where we are. I'll prolly end up soloing in a private game, but I won't be able to today.

Sorry guys, but I can't risk my computer and cable modem.

Hey Reformed, thanks for catching me today and letting me know what was up. We all thought it odd that you were the one missing as you've definitly proven your reliability in the past and earned all of our trust, so how ever you want to lvl tomorrow is fine. As I was telling you I'd be glad to help if I had a ladder char, but outside of the group I'm not playing on ladder right now (I'm actually spending the time I do have starting Knights of the Old Republic right now). Just so you know where we are on builds: we currently have all three sorcs cover (fire, cold, lighting), an avenger Pally (conviction/vengence), a wind druid, and our phonix assassian. Hope to see you tomorrow night.

@symvar- thanks for the input, it's nice to hear from members outside the team as well. We may not need blessed aim as Conviction should pretty much cover our merc attack rating problems.

Noone else cares to reveal what merc their thinking about? Heading into act 2 tomorrow night it would be nice to know. We'll need some melee as we're mostly ranged but all eight may be a little too much, maybe someone should try a rouge merc with a chance to cast amp bow, to help out our other mercs? It would be nice to cover HolyFreeze, Might, Defience, and amp. At that point Barb's would fit in.

as one of the sorcs I would either go for a defiance merc or a barb merc, either one will work. Having anotehr tank would be fine, and having some extra defense will work too.

@naz i warn you not to start playign that game becasue once you do your life is all over until u beat it. Just last month i finally started playing it and i played it straight until i beat it. Took me like 32 hours of actual game time You going dark side or light?

Ahhhh good times... :)

Anyway, I'll hopefully be there at 9 tonight, however I might be a few minutes late. About mercs, I would say get the 6 act 2 mercs and 2 barbs and we'd be all set.

Yeah Ben's Central so it's 9 his time 10 est.

@tron- I'm not sure at the moment which path I'll walk. While I don't go around randomly harassing, or choking the life out of random citizens to get my way, I tend not to back down from confrontation so I may go through the game as a tweener, or I may end up actually roleplaying, I haven't decided yet.

See everyone at ten, maybe Dury will shock us all with a good drop again

@naz

i went dark....couldnt resist always demanding money and being evil.....do u play that dumb card game at all...i did at first but then found it to be a waste of time..( just wanted to go back to kill people and working on my strats for winning battles) word of advise pick light or dark because depending on what you are it cost less to use force powers assosiated with your side then powers for the other side ( i.e. dont use heal if your dark because it costs a ton of force power and u dont get much life back)

Bad News:

I hate to spring this on you guys but I'm going to be out for the next week and a half. Real life calls and I have to go out of town on work so I'll miss tonight, through next Thursday.

If you find a replacement for me, that is cool. Otherwise, I'll try to keep reading what you are up to and I can definitely catchup to be ready for play again on Monday the 26th.

That's a shame...we'll definitly miss you marc. This puts us down two heading into tonight and tomorrow. On Monday we regain Valor but will still be down by one for that week, not great but not really crippling either. We may have to take it a little slower without oak sage  ...nah  though we'll definatly be missing hurricane until we can replace you with a holy freeze merc in nightmare  (j/k by the way). We'll keep you updated over the next week... next week is valors turn
